decent. this place is OK. food is OK. service is decent. basically its just a red lobster but dressed up to make you feel better.

Excellent Choice. Il Fornio is one of the better chains in my opinion. The food is reasonable, the menu is varied, and the breads are excellent. I usually order a salad or pasta dish. The Santa Monica restaurant is located right across from the Ocean - it's a prime location - and a great place to meet someone and temporarily get away from the noise and craziness of the area. After fortifying yourself with a good sandwich made with fresh ingredients and a glass of wine, you'll be ready to make that walk down Third Street Promenade.
