This company is a scam and they will rob you blind with their over the top fees and outrageous estimates for work that should be charged at a 1/4 of the fee. DO NOT USE THEM you will end up calling someone else to do the job right and with a better deal!

Horrible Scam

Do NOT call Powell Electric! They are a rip off! I wish I would of checked out these reviews before calling them. No wonder they came out the same day as I called! What should of been a $200 - $300 job, was quoted as $1,300! I still had to pay their $99 service fee to come out to the house. I was ripped off! They are dishonest and should not be able to do business.

Update: I called another electrician and had the same work done. It cost us $280! How does Powell figure charging the extra $1,020! Maybe they think it was an honor to have them in my home! Please take the time and find a reputable electrician. Don't be scammed by their promising ads.

Police should shut down this scam

Do not call this company. I called just to have a circuit breaker replaced. A man named Doug Edwards arrived and spun a story of how my entire electric box needed to be replaced, at more than $7000. He refused to replace the circuit breaker, claiming "he could not perform work that left the house unsafe." He made me very uncomfortable with personal questions that were unrelated to the situation, such as how was I doing financially and which circuit breaker was the house alarm on. If my house gets robbed in the next month, I will point the police towards Powell Electric. He also made some comments about my nine year old daughter, such as saying she was a "good looking girl", which made me want him to leave immediately. I hope they are investigated soon as they are very shady and it is clearly a scam operation.
