tasty morsel, good timing, charming little treasure, terrible treatment, great bruschetta, great shame, delicious chicken parmesean
My New Favorite Eatery.
George’s Bistro, a quaint restaurant on the Third Street Promenade is a palate pleaser even for the most discerning diner. The restaurant’s cozy atmosphere makes guests feel welcome from the moment they arrive. In addition, the availability of patio dining affords diners the ability to enjoy the unique sights and sounds of the Promenade while savoring every tasty morsel of their delectable delicacy.
With their attentive nature, the friendly staff makes guests feel welcome while never forgetting their immediate task at hand, excellent service. And they certainly have mastered this skill, frequently visiting their tables to ensure their guests receive the attention they deserve. In addition, their extensive wine list gives guests a myriad of choices, even for those with the most discriminating taste.
Also worth mentioning is the wide variety of menu selections, which offer dining guests a multitude of choices –– pasta, fish, fowl and beef –– each one is served in a variety of ways. My favorite dishes include: Chicken Veronique, a savory dish that consists of a rolled chicken filet stuffed with sautéed spinach, mushrooms, roasted garlic, herbs and smoked mozzarella, and then topped with a delicious creamed spinach-tomato sauce; Salmon Florentine, which blends penne pasta with salmon sautéed with garlic, tomatoes, brandy, parmesan cheese and creamed spinach marinara sauce; and Seafood Ravioli, a delicious mixture of pasta pockets filled with crab meat, shrimp and Mozzarella cheese over a lemon cream sauce and garnished with sautéed bay shrimp and Parmesan cheese.
Other popular dishes worth trying include: Chicken Jambalaya, a flavorful dish that is served over rice or linguini; BBQ Baby Back Ribs accented with a homemade traditional hickory sauce and cooked slowly until they fall of the bone; and Penne Bolognaise, which sautés USDA ground choice sirloin with mushrooms, peas, garlic and brandy cream sauce.
By combining great food at a reasonable price and impeccable service, George’s Bistro has cultivated the ingredients for success. This restaurant most definitely is worth putting on your list of restaurants worth visiting.
GREAT STAFF, SHAME ABOUT THE FOOD!. I have to say, I had no complaints about the staff as the hostess was pleasant and our waiter was really nice. However, the food left a lot to be desired. I can honestly say the food at my School Cafeteria tasted better than this and that says it all. We sat inside and felt the place was dark and poorly decorated with fake bougainvillea and nasty walls. The Caesar salad was not good and the Ravioli were covered in what seemed like a sauce you would expect to come out of a packet or jar. Nothing tasted fresh or home-made with love! I wouldn't eat here again!!
Great service, food, and staff (waiter, especially)...friendly, fun and considerate!!!. After getting terrible treatment and service at Boa Bistro, my party and I, for my bday mind you, ended up at Georges bistro. I've been here before and the service and attention and quality of food has been consistently excellent. I truly appreciated it moreso having not been able to be serviced at Boa (with reservations) after 9:30 PM !!! The waiter is great and even after it being late, he had the greatest disposition that will make you want to come back for more. Definitely a keeper!!!
Nice Little Bistro. In the middle of the Promenade we found this tiny bistro just as we were thinking of having lunch. What good timing. George's bistro has great food, everything we ate and saw on other tables was great. I want to go back in order to try the ribs (I saw them at the table next to ours). George's is a very small restaurant so I am sure it can fill up quickly in the evening but definitely give them a try.
Good food while shopping at the promenade. Highlight was sitting outside on their patio. Mahi Mahi sandwich was delicious!! Prices are reasonable. Good place for a tasty lunch.
Great food, poor service, good for people watching. George's has great bruschetta and sandwiches- the chicken parmesean is delicious! I love sitting outside and having lunch with a friend while shopping on Third Street. The service was super slow despite not being that crowded, but at least we weren't in a hurry.
Very relaxed lunch. Although the food wasn't particularly memorable, it wasn't bad either. We enjoyed this place more b/c we had a fun time just sitting at the outside patio, watching the beautiful ppl walk by, and enjoying the sun while drinkin cosmopolitans! George's is a charming little treasure...somewhere very simple to go to after a long night of partying!
3rd Street Promenade is tourist haven so this past Father's Day I was expecting to take my parents to a rather marginal lunch. However, we saw a quaint place with outdoor seating and decided to give it shot over Johnny Rockets across the way.
It was father's day and the restaurant had an early lunch crowd and the lone waitress was caught off guard. Needless to say, service was atrocious until the busboy and another helper showed up at noon.
However, the food was absolutely wonderful. I had a Thai chicken salad...something hard to screw up but hard to make memorable....it was definitely several notches above what the price point would suggest. My suggestion...the food is great and varied...give it a try.
