great place, really great live music, awful food, fast service, awesome club, good sexy ambiance, nice atmosphere
The space formerly known as Temple Bar gets a new look and n. Don't worry, music lovers. Underground acts and artists who stray from the mainstream still grace the stage of this red-lit lounge. Only now, they're doing it in a slightly more grown-up space thanks to owners (and happy couple) Alex Fieglein and Sabrina Roark. Black walls and glass panels frosted with swirly logos give way to two connected rooms, one where afro'd scenesters and dread heads catch live performances, the other where sport coat-wearing Westsiders and retro rockers sip wine (often poured by the owners themselves) on chocolate-hued armchairs and recycled bamboo tables. Much like the crowd itself, the late-night menu is a colorful mix, featuring upscale grub ranging from tuna tartare and New York steak to mac and cheese with bacon. Aside from the live music and neighborhoody vibe, the Friday night parties reel in crowds that want to break a sweat on the remodeled dancefloor.
Dakota. Great spot to see live music and live bands. The bartenders are really friendly and they remodeled the place real nice with seating booths and stuff.
Seneca Live @ Temple Bar 9-29-08. I just cannot wait! This band came all the way from Ireland to play in America! Which is awesome in itself! If you havent seen or heard of this group before...look them up...listen to them...you will become a fan for life. I promise! Go and check it out! See you there!
Not what I expected. It might be because I'm so familiar with the vibe at Little Temple and I expected Temple Bar to be similar, but the flavor wasn't the same, or even remotely close. I thought there would be reggae and dancehall music, but there was latin music and latin bands, which is okay, just not want I bargained for.
Not what I expected. The citysearch description says funk, soul, r&b, hip hop, rap.. could have been the night we went (Saturday) but it was more latin with latin bands. It drew in a crowd around 35-50 years old. People there were having fun, however it just wasn't what I expected.
Go for the music, not for the food!. This place has awesome music. No question about that! The food, on the other hand, is awful! Our jerk chicken enchilada was lukewarm and it definitely was not jerk chicken. The blackened shrimp tacos were not blackened. In fact, it looked like they had taken the rock shrimp out of a bag, run them under hot water, and threw them on a taco with some shredded lettuce. No exaggeration here! Again, go for the music, but have dinner someplace else.
love it. the music was off the hook,i realy had a nice time unlike everywhere else i have been
Very sexy and cool. This spot is really great. Good food, people, service, overall I am very pleased. I advise anyone who likes good music and a sexy ambiance to come here!
Editorial Review. The space formerly known as Temple Bar goes live with a relaxed scene and music to keep you up all night.
This Place Kicks!. This is a great place. Comfortable, casual, and cool. The service was fast and friendly, food was suprisingly good, and the atmosphere was nice. If you're looking for a place to relax with your friends over drinks and live entertainment this a place you must try.
