unacceptable, do not patronize this business.
I was so extremely sad to hear that after throwing an event two weeks ago at this hotel, that a group I support was basically being thrown out by the owner while she was spewing antisemitic remarks. To say the least, she made Mel Gibson look civil.
DO NOT go here and support racism in it's purest form. I hope this hotel shortly goes under and finds management that deserves to be in business.

What a great find.
Amazing experience at this hotel. Right in the HEART of Santa Monica. Walking distance to beach and shops. Cozy vibe yet sophisticated staff. Fantastic pool and killer bar on the roof.
The rooms can be a bit loud and you do hear the elevators clanging sometimes, but other than that, I'd say this is a great find in SaMo.

Amazing Hotel and Restaurant!.
Spacious dinning area overlooking beautiful Ocean Avenue. Lounging poolside is a must as well. Great DJ's on the weekends. The hotel’s pristine interior is always comforting whether you're relaxing or holding business meetings. I usually order the Lobster Cobb; crisp greens tossed with a blue cheese vinaigrette, applewood bacon, and ripe avocado complimented the fresh lobster perfectly. Also known for their fabulous oysters. Service at the Shangri-La is always outstanding!!

Chic hotel brings a taste of South Beach to Santa Monica..
At last … Shangri-La has finally opened its doors again, proving that this idyllic getaway is no longer a thing of fiction. Fresh from a $30 million makeover, the hotel--originally built in 1939--is still a beacon of art deco splendor, Hollywood glamour and Los Angeles history. Only now, it's part of the uber-cool K Hotels group and has more than a few modern amenities that were conspicuously missing before. (No restaurant? No room service? No swimming pool? No way! They've got 'em all now.) The solar-heated pool features cabanas and an outdoor dining area open to the public while the swanky rooftop bar is where patrons can indulge their inner rock star. (Book a room and you'll know what we mean.) More rooms are also part of the deal (there are now 71 and nearly all of them have expansive ocean views) as are eco-friendly elements like compact lighting, organic cleansers for housekeeping (bye, bye chemical smell), bath amenities from Natura Green (even the soaps have a hole in the middle 'cause nobody ever uses the whole bar, right?) and a seasonally-driven, locally-sourced restaurant aptly called The Dining Room at Shangri-La. Try the deconstructed Cobb salad and the burger--you won't be sorry.

decent digs.
Great view and location - about 3 blocks from the Santa Monica Pier. The room was nice and clean. The king size bed felt like two twin-sized box springs pushed together. Torn couch cushions but still comfortable. They put out a good complimentary continental breakfast until 10:30am. I could have done without the homeless outside shouting at each other around 3am. Overall, a decent place to stay while in Santa Monica

Great Place, Great Value.
This hotel has really large rooms for a wonderful price. I got an amazing view, kitchen, free breakfast, free parking, and free high speed internet access. All I had to do is plug in my laptop in the room and I was surfing... I'm an Internet junkie. Anyways... Shangri-La is right next to 3rd St Promenade, which is filled with great stores, movie theaters, and resturants. The pier is also close by and worth seeing. This place is a GEM!
