Not Recommended for lack of Integrity!. Not Recommended AT all.

Despite it's nice ambiance, attitude of the manager toward his customers is not satisfying.

He is not friendly and responsible for any unfavorable situations that can happen to his customers. Not only doesn't he help customer to resolve dissatisfaction, but he DOES accuse them for being irresponsible.

Wish there was an option to have negative ratings. One start "EH" is way much for him.

You can't find another restaurant like this one in LA. The first time I went to Sam's was for my girlfriend's bday in march 08, and we loved it so much that we already went back twice since that, each time with different friends and each time they raved about the place!. If you love food and you want to experience a restaurant that offers Mediteraneen / Californian flavorfull Cuisine, europeean / NY style Service in a dark, cosy, romantic atmosphere, this is your place. I don't think there is any other place like this one in Los Angeles.

Muy romantico!. My fiance and I went to this restaurant on a whim, and what a pleasant surprise! From the friendly and prompt service to the delicious food, we were blown away. We shared a couple appetizers and the bouillabaisse ( AMAZING). This is truly a wonderful place.

Loved it!!. Went there after many friends recommended the place to us. It became our new favorite spot.

The place is small and very charming, there are no more than 15 tables, the staff is small and seems to be a family. We tried many things on the menu since it was for all of us our first time and our waitress helped us pick all those great dishes: the Trio (humus babouli and babaganoush) the japanese white fish salad and the mushroom salad for starters.

Then I had the spaguetti with squid ink (oh my god!! amazing) my husband got the Elk in Port sauce and our friends had the salmon and the Lamb Chops, they all loved everything.

We had bread pudding for dessert and White Port dessert wine... (this was the best bread pudding I had in a long time!)

We highly recommend this restaurant.

A Jewel in Santa Monica Canyon. Great service (Sam and Jean-Michel are the best. Fun, passionate about food). The best food in the canyon (Santa Monica) and certainly one of the best in Santa Monica (a town with a lot of great restaurants). The men is wide and varied, but if you want a serious dining experience - order the specials. This guy Sam gets up at 4:00 in the morning and drives downtown to personally select fish from the Japanese fish vendors. So get some fish, or get a full fish menu.

To really do Sam's right - put yourself in Sam's hands and get the (unwritten) tasting menu and you'll have a multi course meal, terrific, satisfying, creative food (never anything weird), and something different that other place in the city. Is it Italian? No. Mediterranean? Yes, in the smartest way. I'm getting hungry.

Perfect every time!. I had been here a few times and decided to have my wedding rehearsal dinner here. It was absolutely amazing. Everyone had a great time and raved about the food. Everyone that comes here just keeps on coming back. The owners make it a wonderful place to relax and have a great meal. The service is friendly and the prices are very reasonable. The food is perfect every time. Try the bread pudding for dessert. It's the best I've ever had. And the specials are always great.

Gastronomic trip to the Mediterranean is found on the coast of Santa Monica.. In Short
Despite its proximity to the ocean, Sam's doesn't have a view or beachy ambiance, nor is it populated by shorts-wearing, sandy-haired surfers. Instead, this quiet bistro attracts an upscale crowd, with its soothing green walls and leopard print banquettes. For the game lover, choices include a roasted duck marget with cherry sauce, or a roasted smoked quail stuffed with apple and goat cheese in a port wine sauce. Predominantly French desserts--crepes suzette and crème brulee--end the meal.
