What People Are Saying About Nawab of India

In Short – Taking up residence right across the street from a fancy Mercedes Benz dealership on Wilshire Boulevard, this two-room space hides nothing with its floor-to-ceiling windows that filter in the Santa Monica sunshine by day and bring in the bright lights of the boulevard by night. The white tablecloths and elevated price points convey a slightly more upscale experience than most Indian restaurants, but the friendly service and fresh fare--not to mention the complimentary spicy cauliflower chutney and papadum--keep the locals coming back for more. North Indian dishes reign supreme…

Incredible Service

Our service was great and the waiter was adorable. Ambiance was romantic and definitely recommended. For the music,,,I would recommend jazz or house and the people were cool. Portions were good.

we went there on a restaurant dot com gift certificate. the mgr/owner/waiter tried to deny it saying it wasn't good for our meal. we read the fine print and knew he was wrong. he would not come back to our table when requested. the other waiter said to just go. we left the appropriate amount and left. this guy works like the insurance industry, just deny all claims from the start.
- Pros: food is ok
- Cons: service ... also, food takes a very long time to come out
Food has changed, but still a good deal for their lunch buffet
by butthugger at Citysearch
As the previous reviewer stated, the food has definitely changed and not for the better. Whether or not the chef has left, the tastes of the curries and tandoori chicken have been off. I usually go there for their lunch buffets and this time around I noticed that the food tasted more on the bland side. The tandoori chicken wasn't cooked thoroughly, still bloody and red close to the bone. Either one by themselves would've made me go somewhere else, but the bloody chicken is downright dangerous. Heck, even the garlic naan, which is pretty basic, wasn't good. Too doughy and a little soggy. There are a number of other Indian restaurants out there so I think that I'll be checking up on those more often now.
- Pros: Nicely priced lunch buffet
- Cons: Underdone food, bland food

i went to nawab of india last weekend and the food did not taste the way it used to. i found out that the chef no longer works there.i dont know if i will be coming back to nawab. he made the best indian food i have ever tasted! i used to go there every weekend! but fortunately i learned the chef of nawab is opening his own restaurant called "Copper Chimney." it is in Woodland hills. I can't wait till it opens!
- Pros: THE CHEF IS OPENING A NEW RESTAURANT!
- Cons: THE CHEF HAS LEFT!
