But before the band takes the stage, nurse a beer in the tiny sliver of a main room--or shoot a game of pool in the even smaller back room.

my worst experience at a bar EVER

this bar was awful, DO NOT GO THERE!! there was a ten dollar cover charge and it was SO NOT WORTH IT! And I love dive bars but this place SUCKED!! the bathrooms were beyond disgusting, the whole place smelled like urine, the drink selection was lame and i saw on my bank statement a few days later that they overcharged my credit card! i left a 2 dollar tip on a tab in which i only ordered a couple of beers and they added money to the tip! NEVER AGAIN will I go to this bar and you shouldn't either. There are so many cooler places to go that don't have a cover charge and are clean and have way better drinks. Find another bar besides 14 below. Seriously.
- Pros: my friends band played there and they are awesome

Nice Neighborhood Spot

This bar is all right in my book. It's nothing to write home about, so I would never take my more hip friends here (actually, I did once and they hated it) or out of town guests because it's the kind of pool and music venue that could be anywhere in the world. But it can be a lot of laidback fun. The mix of music is great: everyone from Deadhead cover band Cubenisis to punk. There's a lot of pool tables and OK bar food. The Room is right next door if you feel like dancing afterward.
- Pros: laidback, strong drinks, mix of music
- Cons: cover often too high, parking tough
