I tried Pet Affaire based on a neighbor's recommendaton, and all the raving revews on this site. The staff seemed very friendly on the phone when I made my appt for my dogs bath/cut. I was quoted $65-70 for each dog. Seemed reasonable enough, although was used to paying $50 per dog over at Centinela Pets on Centnela Av. Unfortunately the groomer at CP left unexpectedly with no forwarding info and has yet to be replaced. After dropping them off the owner called me to tell me it will be $90 per dog based on the heavy matting and "aggressive behavior". I did tell them that my female is tempremental when I dropped them off, yes she has been muzzled before during groomiing, usually no big deal. But my male is super friendly, however they decided to go ahead and muzzle him anyway, although later confirmed by a member of the staff, that he wasn't acting aggressively. I never heard complaints from groomers/owners about my dogs being such a huge ordeal, behaviour, condition of coat etc. They told me they required 2-3 groomers per dog just to get the work done. I in the past have brought my dogs to groomers with heavy matting, dirty, stinky and have not ever been told that they required 2-3 groomers per dog. The most they expressed was that my female needed to be muzzled and they charged me $20 extra for the heavy matting. When my dogs came home I could still see the outline of the muzzle around my male's face, it stayed there for quite awhile. My female had knicks on her belly and she was clearly upset, still shaking for quite a long time after arriving. She has never acted this way when arriving from the groomers. All in all, the cut was decent however not worth the obvious trauma my dogs endured. Also for $90 per dog, I would've just called a mobile dog grooming service, which I have payed $75-85 per dog . I just wish I knew where the Centinela Pets groomer is now, $50 for bath/shave, great cut, no bitching about my dogs, and they left happy....

Pros: decent cut

Cons: knicks, dogs upset, a lot of bitching about my dogs, paid too much!

This is a great place to take your dog. Great prices, great grooming. My King Charles Cavalier comes out shiny and spotless every time. The staff is extremely friendly and even my timid little dog thinks it is a painless experience!

Pros: Great grooming, inexpensive, quick, easy scheduling

Cons: None
