In Short – Students in sweats and laptop-lugging locals line up at this simple, sun-drenched eatery, which faces the fields of John Adams Middle School. Colorful paintings cover the walls, and yellow paper placemats brighten its black formica tables. Bowls of prepared salads, such as eggplant and pine nut, mango and avocado, and tomato and mozzarella, beckon from behind the glass display. The kitchen also cooks up pastas and towering hot sandwiches served with a huge salad or fries.

Used to love this place, but it's under new management. Went for Sunday breakfast, ordered something simple, waited 45 minutes, then it was the wrong thing. Saw same thing happen to several other patrons. Was told there's a new cook. (?) When we complained, staff didn't seem to care. Don't expect this to last long. Very disappointed. Where's John? and all the other wonderful people who used to be there?

Love this place.. a regular customer.. my favorite is the breakfast crepes...dee-licious.. relaxing in the morning.. friendly staff and owners.. small.. friendly customers too...

- Cons: Sometimes very busy (noisy) at lunch (close to Sta Monica college)

Weekday mornings are a quiet time to bring a newspaper and enjoy a cafe au lait and the house specialty crepes filled with cottage cheese, strawberries and bananas.
Parking:
If the tiny lot is full, there are both free and metered spots along Ocean Park and 17th.
