Good service...ridiculous prices. I just got back from an evening at Lula's. My boyfriend and I were greeted and seated promptly. the service at this restaurant was excellent; our server was very attentive. The food was so-so. the queso fundido we ordered for a starter was greasy! I really enjoyed the shrimp and goat cheese quesadilla! However, the only problem I had was when it came to the check! 2 entrees, a starter and 2 margaritas later and it was $55! the margaritas were $8.25. There was no drink menu provided to us, and we figured that was why! I really don't mind paying that much for a margarita, but next time, I'll take my money and go to El Chollo where they are twice as big! Oh my goodness!

Really nice folk go here to have really great food.. Everything I've eaten at Lula's I'm now addicted to; the churro's and 3-flan desserts are unbelievable. Beside the faultless menu, what makes this my favourite of restaurants is that the staff welcome me as if they haven't seen me for years, even if it's only been a week, and the atmosphere is so comfortable that you find yourself chatting with all the other customers who've popped in... that could certainly be because of the Lula signature margaritas, but I think it's just a restaurant that attracts really nice folk.

Best Mexican Food in Los Angeles. Bravo!. I brought a group of 10 people last night to Lula for a business meeting in your beautiful patio. The entire group was so impressed by Lula. The food was absolutely the best Mexican food I have had in Los Angeles. When I arrived I was starved and I started drinking your fabulous Lula margaritas a little too quickly. When the food arrived I could not believe how delicious everything was; from the Lobster Taquitos to the Shrimp and Goat Cheese Quesadilla.. I also wanted to mention how great you staff is. Everyone clearly went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Could you take a moment to thank the bussers, servers and bartenders. Outstanding. Thanks you once again for such a great evening. A special thanks to Aiden for arranging everything.

High Energy. Not only is the food fresh and delicious, but you walk into Lula's and immediately there is an energy that is felt. From the color's and decor of the restaurant, to the food, to the staff. This is a haven for Santa Monica and Venice regulars. Unbelievable happy hour from 1-7 everyday.

Have a Lula Margarita and sit in the Patio. Great service but there is usually a wait on Fridays and Saturdays. I like all of the Tamales, the Tuna Tostada (fresh Tuna) and the Mole Negro. They have just added a bunch of wines so I'll have to try one the next time I'm in if I can resist the absolutely HUGE tequila list.

If you want Mexican food on Main Street, this is pretty much it. Main Street is lacking for Mexican food and I think Lula's high ratings are for that reason. It is an average Mexican food joint - chips & salsa are fine, the margaritas are average and the decor is standard Southwestern with some pretty cool paintings. The lobster dishes are however very nice, the restaurant is clean and bright & the service is usually friendly. There is an outdoor area and the restaurant itself has huge windows that open onto Main Street's casual bustle. If you feel like Mexican and don't want to schlep to Venice or the Promenade this is a good choice.

Great Mexican Food!. Great food! The tamales as well as any other veggie dish are good! Don't forget to have a glass of sangria or a margarita while people watching! It's located on Main Street so it's fun to walk off dinner afterwards!

Pleasantly surprised by its authenticity. So many area Mexican food restaurants serve up greasy, Americanized Mexican food, so I was pleasantly surprised by Lula, especially given its location on Main Street in Santa Monica, near the beach. Beautiful flaky tamales with smoky mole sauce as well as huitlacoche quesadillas are some of the delicious surprises that we tried on a recent trip. Margaritas on the rocks are refreshing and the open airy atmosphere is inviting whether you sit on the patio in back, or in the screened dining room in front. Service is efficient, if not overly friendly. I would recommend it to a friend who is looking for tasty Mexican food in an inviting atmosphere on the Westside.

Great Traditional Mexican Food. Lula?s Main Street location is great and close to all the Venice shops. The plaza in the back is great for a midday lunch in the sun or dining under the stars at night. The food is great with duck tacos, shrimp enchiladas, and white fish burritos.

Fun atmosphere, great margaritas. Lula's is the perfect place to go if you want Baja-Mexican food served in a fun atmosphere. The food is great, but the margaritas are better. I recommend their enchilada platters, or their stuffed jalapenos. Make a reservation before you go, though. The restaurant tends to get packed during the evening hours.
