we order take-out from here all the time!. This is a favorite take-out place of ours! The restaurant is great to eat at too. Cheap, quick, friendly family-owned feel to it. Chicken tikka Marsala is definately the best item on the menu. We've been to a lot of places looking for good Indian, this is the best we've found in Santa Monica area.

Best Indian Food In Santa Monica. Totally authentic Punjab style Indian food. I have eaten at many, many Indian restaurants up in the Silicon Valley (hundreds there). This place has the quality of those restaurants. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Indian food.

Excellent Indian Food - Check out their website!. I've had a hard time enjoying Indian food in the past because I could never remember what to order and which meals I loved. However, after reviewing their website, it was much easier to look at the pictures and order. We ordered it for delivery on Valentines Day and were told it was an hour and half wait for delivery. But, if we came in and picked it up, only 20 minutes. No Brainer. 15 minutes later we had our food and gobbled down every bit of it. In fact, we were bummed that we didn't order more. I can't speak for the restaurant itself, but the food...rocked.

Cheap Eats!. Tucked away and unassuming, this place may not be the prettiest or trendy...but the prices and food make up for it. Go for the lunch special-under $7 for all-you-can-eat. ( 11am to 3 pm) They mix it up, but there's always a vegetarian option. They bring out large pieces of roti (Indian flat bread) and vegetable samosas (deep-fried turnovers) and have yummy sauces to go with. It's very clean and open, and the staff is super friendly and attentive. They greet you at the door, and even remembered my friend who had been there the week before. It was easy to find (right on Pico), delicious curry, convenient parking and not too crowded.

It may have been a few years since anyone reviewed it on Citysearch-but I would highly recommend you give this place a try.

the best. This is a true neighborhood restaurant. Sure, the decor isn't "hip" but its truly comfortable and clean. The service is outstanding and the food is the best outside of Artesia (little India). Not to mention it won't break the bank to eat here regularly.

Little Gem. We first found this little gem located in an obscure strip mall, a few years ago when we first moved to the west-side and were craving some neighborhood restaurants--and we found it! Tandoor-India has great food (aloo gobi, chana masala, saag paneer)--especially fresh on Friday and Sat. nights, great prices, and attentive service. Though never crowded, it has loyal patrons and a large take out clientelle--definately worth the visit, especially if you like little hole in the wall places that feel like you've stumbled upon some great secret.

Affordable & Good but Could be Better. The food at Tandoor India used to be terrific a few years ago. Still is good, but places like Akbar and The Clay Pit easily beat it out. It's hard to beat Tandoor India's prices, though, and it's nice to find combination dinners on the menu (lets you try a bit of a lot and keeps the cost down).
