favorite drink, favorite place, great vanilla blended coffee, huge slices, amazing prosciutto sandwich, great sandwiches, nice side salad
Family run old world business. My daughter and I discovered Amelia's 6 yrs ago when the Starbucks line was too long and found one of our favorite places in the city. There are regular baked goods and then there Amelia's daily baked goods (ask if you can't tell, but usually the ones with white paper are from a bakery). Kids and families are so welcome and it's like being in a small town. The soups! The sandwiches! Small but delicious menu!
the soup is molto bene!.
Amelia makes the best soup on the west side. She makes a soup with chicken and spinach that makes you cry for joy. Seriously.
I got hooked on her croissants too. They are perfectly European. No Canola oil or Lard here. Strictly butter, more butter and flakey croissants.
Secret Ace Up My Breakfast/Lunchtime Sleeve. I stumbled upon this little cafe one day while attending the farmer's market across the street - and it is fabulous! The owner and his wife and son work behind the counter. The food is FRESH and the baked goods are baked fresh that day in-house! They specialize in homemade soups and they are delicious. The sandwiches are way-above average, in terms of their quality and tastiness! I would not hesitate to try this place out - you may find that it becomes one of your favorite places.
Lovely for Lunch. Amelias has THE most charming staff. They are simply darling and their smiles are always genuine. Just get there early for the croissants!
$12 for a sandwich? yes and they're worth it!!. I've been here many, many times and never once had a bad experience. One of the friendliest places I've ever been. They remember you and always greet you with a smile, and try to do everything they can to make your experience a delightful one. Their prosciutto sandwhich is to die for, with fresh meat, and huge slices of mozerrela and tomato, lightly drizzled with oils on a toasted panini. I highly recommend their vanilla blended coffee. During lunchtimes, street parking can be difficult so I use the meter for the library down Main street.
Great sandwiches. Wonderful mom and pop café. (Literally. Their son works there, too.) The best meatball sandwich I've ever had, but you have to go their early for it because they almost always run out by 1PM or so. Luckily, their prosciutto sandwich is also amazing, as is their mozzarella and their tuna salad sandwich. All sandwiches come with a nice side salad of mixed greens. Great coffees and baked goods, too. Indoor and outdoor tables.
Best place for coffee, iced tea, and more!. I found this place by accident because I was shopping across the street at American Apparel and I'm so happy I found it. My friend ordered a cappuccino and I had their iced tea --- both were amazing. The tea was sweetened with peach nectar and it's my new favorite drink. I'm addicted. I'm a big coffee drinker...I've had it everywhere, from LA to New York to San Francisco and just about anywhere else I've lived or visited, I always check out the local coffee joints. Added bonus is that it's on Main Street so shopping, my favorite nail salon, and the beach are only a stone's throw away. I only wish they had some comfy chairs and couches to make sipping their delicious drinks even that much better. Prices are reasonable too so skip the Starbucks that's just down the street and try Amelia's!
