What People Are Saying About Daily Pint

In Short – There's nothing Hollywood about this Santa Monica dive, and the locals want to keep it that way. This hidden gem is a haven for anyone who just wants to kick back, enjoy a drink and hang out with friends. If you're looking for something with a tad more energy, the Pint can also be your playground. Darts, foosball, shuffleboard and pool will keep the sports fans cheering all night long. While playing, a jukebox pumps out classic rock and Top 40 hits. – –
Great Beer Selection

Abusive Owner, Overcharged Me. Did not provide Itemized receipt
by michaelwach at Citysearch
I have been a patron of this bar for over two years. This evening, the supposed owner overcharged me on a tab and refused to provide me an itemized receipt saying "we do not do that here". I was respectful and was met only with anger and escalation of the situation. All I asked is that he itemized what I payed for. I left under duress, he said I should never come back again. I am issuing a warning to all of those who are considering patronizing this bar. Make sure you carefully check exactly what you order and keep a tab in your head. Depending on the holiday or how busy the bar is, your bill may fluctuate.
Best Bar for Whiskey (or Whisky) in LA - Arguably
by AdamToldYa at Citysearch
This place gets five stars on the whiskey selection alone. 'Cause that's what I drive all the way to The Pint for.
It's probably the best place for single malt scotch in Los Angeles. Seven Grand is a close competitor, except most of their whiskies are official distillery bottlings -- at the Pint, there is a massive selection of independent and single-cask bottlings (the more you get into single malts, the more malts you'll want to sample, and you'll understand why this gets important). Prices are generally fair, but you might want to have a good idea of what's a deal and what's excessive before ordering the pricey stuff. Currently they've got over 200 whiskies and counting.
And there's a heck of a lot of beer, like 30 on tap alone. A handful are cask-conditioned, hand-pumped ales! Yum!!
Eat before going, there's no food here or near.
As others comment, this place is as laid-back and unpretentious as you can get. If you're looking for luxury, go to Seven Grand. Looking for a dive bar (with non-dive-bar-selection), go here. Plenty of activities to keep you busy, including the aforementioned shuffleboard table. The staff is always happy to chat and give recommendations. I've never encountered any rudeness from staff or patrons, and I'm a high-maintenance guy.
LA Whiskey Society says: Hugely Endorsed!
- Pros: Massive whiskey selection, huge beer selection, great place to hang out w/o pretense
- Cons: No A/C, no food, proper whisky glassware needed, bathroom approaches biohazard status
