It's easy to find a good surf shop near the beach, but ZJ Boarding House gets props for maintaining an equally impressive year-round selection of skate- and snowboard gear, too. An all-pro staff answers questions, tunes boards, and sponsors local events showcasing up-and-coming surfers and snowboarders. Next door, in a separate but adjoining storefront, ZJ's carries technical, sport-specific clothing, including wetsuits and snowboard jackets, shoes, and women's swim- and sportswear.

You bring your surfboard in, or whatever, and not more than two steps in, someone's like, "What up, dude?!?" Then like three people swarm you and look at your board, and get you what you need. Never, ever, been disappointed here. Screw those other places, that have like uninterested, pure sales clerks. The dudes that work here are all surfers, and I think they'd much rather just chill, smoke a bowl, and get other dudes stoked on surfing too, than try to sell you a bunch of useless junk. A+.

Everytime I go to ZJ's I always find the stuff I need. They also have good sales and just about every kind of snowboard equipment i want.

Just about everyone on staff is really helpful and they have a great spot in Santa Monica. Great place to look for boards or other merchandise. Enjoy your visit.
