Created in 1985 by a small group of concerned citizens, Heal the Bay has been proving ever since that it's not too late to save Southern California's beaches. Committed to giving everyone a year-round swimmable and fishable Santa Monica Bay, the non-profit (which has a huge celebrity following) raises awareness, educates the public and offers numerous volunteer opportunities that range from beach cleanups on the third Saturday of every month to cleaning out weeds along the Malibu Creek to more time-intensive ways of helping keep our aquatic environment clean.
