great sushi value in downtown. we loved mako sushi, the waitress was very nice, very attentive. 45 dollars for the omakase sushi was a fantastic deal! the pieces were very big, the rice was a little bit on the small side, but it's not like it was the opposite way (small sushi/big rice;-)) the fish was very fresh, i didn't have one piece that tasted or smelled fishy!

they have a great selection of sake for every budget as well.

i can't wait to return for a second round.

Best Sushi n Sashimi in Lit;l Tokyo n L.A!. We eat here regularly. It's really a cozy restaurant n the fresh sashimi n sushi are amazing! The owner cheff Mako is very attentive. I take clients and family and they have all been pleased, some extremely so. Most have become regulars as well. Mako has a lot of regular customers. We go there, we see the familiar faces and easy to become friends. Recommend "Crusted Oyster" "Beef or Scallop BBQ" "Shark Cartilage"

Best Authentic Japanese Sushi w/ high quality Japanese Sake!. This restaurant is amazing! Not only is the service is perfect and the atmosphere great, like REAL JAPAN! The food is INCREDIBLE!!! Everything on the menu was delicious. The owner cheff Mako makes soy sauce, ponzu sauce, eel sauce...all kinds of sauces they serve are home made. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Authentic sushi experience in the heart of LA. We went on the advice of a friend who knows the Little Tokyo area. Its a very cozy restaurant with a very authentic sushi bar--reminds me of Japan. Prices are a bit on the high side but worth it for the quality. Validated parking in the Weller Court parking garage underneath the "mall" was a nice surprise--just don't park in the wrong garage! Try the scallop sushi, crab roll, salmon skin roll--everything we ordered was good! Staff was very friendly. A really delightful experience overall.

Good traditional Japanese cuisine. We took our friends and their kids to this place and we all thought this was a pretty good place. The food was really delicious and the service was very friendly and attentive. It's a pretty tiny place but we were seated promptly without a wait.

great food but AWFUL service!. we had the chef's sashimi special, chirashi special, and the sushi + scallop BBQ combo. the price was reasonable for an authentic japanese sushi restaurant, but the service was AWFUL! none of the dishes came out together and were spaced about 15-20 minutes apart. it felt like the three of us were eating separately. the servers also forgot to bring the miso soup that came w/ our entrees. and it just took them forever to do anything. the poor service soured our taste to this restaurant tho the fish was freh and excellent. i'd not recommend this Mako.
