Located in a Little Tokyo strip mall, this down-to-business sushi house knows that it's the fresh fish--not the dated mahogany paneling and blue-and-white striped curtains--that packs 'em in. As guests come and go, good-natured chefs bellow (in Japanese, of course) "hello" and "goodbye" from behind the sushi bar. Sushi and sashimi are the main draws, like Spanish mackerel topped with green onions and ponzu. Teriyaki and tempura dishes are also available for patrons who prefer cooked dishes.

Sushi Gen is famous for its sushis and sashimis. This place has the freshest fishes for the sashimi, definitely a MUST GO if you are a raw fish lover. The sushi rolls are also excellent such as the spider roll, spicy tuna, california roll. Great place for traditional and authentic Japanese cuisine. One thing to keep in mind though, is get there early because there can be a long wait for dinner, especially on weekends

Best SUSHI EVER!!!! ALWAYS FRESH!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!! MUST MUST GO check it out!!!!! Once you try the best, you're hooked!!! Must go!! Reasonable price in town!!!
