In Short – Exotic velvet draperies and a deep-red wavy ceiling imbue this cafe with a sensual vibe. The spacious bar has checkered banquette seating beneath a mural of martinis. The kitchen turns out authentic Spanish tapas and paella, along with pastas and meats. Salads such as mango shrimp, calamari and warm goat cheese are served both as sides and entrees. From the bakery, warm chocolate souffle cake à la mode is a house favorite.

Not Very Good

I ordered the halibut with lobster creme sauce, I received halibut with marinara sauce, mushrooms and shrimp. The potatos had what was in texture and flavor, kraft singles melted on them. All the food was overseasoned with too much garlic and oversaletd--yuck! I sent my entree back because it was not what I ordered from the menu. Overseasoning is an attempt to cover up poor cooking. Being lunchtime on a workday, it was too late to wait for another order, so I ordered a cup of french onion soup. It was fair. The service was friendly and accomidating. The decor was pretentious and heavy handed--too dark and heavy victorian fabric vibe. My final observation should have been a clue--a nearly empty restaurant at lunch rush hour in the busiest part of Torrance nearly across the street from Honda of America. Both the sandwhich bakery and Rudys were packed. I think Gordon Ramsay needs to give this place a spot in his Kitchen Nightmares show.
It was... Okay, I guess.

After you get over the fact that you're in a strip mall, you find this really cool looking restaurant inside.
We started with wines... and, after a weekend in Napa, reviewing their wine list was short... I guess. That riesling I had could not have been a riesling, it tasted more like a chard.
Tapas are always a good bet. It's cheap and not to filling. The mussels and salads were well worth their price, if not more. I could had more asparagus for the value, but it was nicely seasoned. Oh... pass on the chicken tandori. It's dry and they only give you two pieces the size of chicken strips.
All in all, I found the place... just OK.
- Pros: good parking, ambience, tapas
- Cons: wine list, oddly located, chicken tandori
