Downfall of South Bay Grill

This was voted one of the best resturants in Torrance, CA. The food was outstanding the prices very reasonable, excellent service, affordable to seniors and always a crowd. Since new owners took over about three years ago everything has gone downhill. This includes food and service. Gone are the crowds, seniors, quality foods and a good selection. Up were the prices and a rating loss in the City. Too bad but thats what happens when you get greedy and want to get rich quick. I feel sorry for the customers and the owners deserve what they get, bankrupsy!

- Pros: was the best in town
- Cons: New owners, resturant going downhill.
Best Clam Chowder in Southern California
by CinnerJ at Citysearch
Ever since moving here from Boston in 2001, we've been looking for a great clam chowder, and we're happy to say we finally found it! Definitely homemade, hearty, with plenty of fresh clams, this chowder would make most New Englanders happy. Top that off with an extensive, constantly changing menu of fresh line caught fish, large portions, and very reasonable prices, and you definitely get a winner! Gets a little crowded during the early bird dinner time, but that's understandable because of the outstanding value. This restaurant also has friendly, experienced staff and fresh baked bread; where ever you live, its worth the drive! Its also just a few miles from Redondo Beach, so there is plenty to do if you're just stopping by!
- Pros: Great chowdah, big portions, lots of fresh fish
- Cons: A little crowded during early bird specials
Great Prime Rib !
by shortcake23 at Citysearch
My family loves to come here for their prime rib. Simply fantastic. Soft and cooked to order. Comes with plenty of sides and sourdough bread. You will not leave here hungry. There are only two choices for meat, prime rib and steak. I have not tried any of the other seafood choices just the shrimp scampi which I love. Waitresses a little slow. Ambience more family friendly. Good food, prices are very fair. Better than some commercial restaurants that offer prime rib. A friend of mine took her boyfriend and they had the seafood kabobs, ate for $20. I would definitely recommend for a family dinner.
- Pros: Good Food, prices, parking
- Cons: Not Romantic, Slow service
