An unassuming glassed-in exterior unfolds to a roomy space of hardwood floors, lofty ceilings adorned with hanging paper lanterns and towering stacks of literary wonders. Somewhat of an Uptown Whittier pillar, this neighborhood bookshop provides locals with an accessible, friendly and welcoming atmosphere to find their favorite published works. Spacious and far from musty, the store offers a wide-ranging selection of books which are organized into distinct sections such as the blue children's literature room, the pink-hued romance novel section and "Plato's Cave," which specializes in works on philosophy, metaphysics, religion, art and more. If the store doesn't have a book you're looking for, just let 'em know--they'll order it for you and ship it in for free.

Friendly staff, good location. This is one of those true treasures! A great book shop in uptown Whittier, with a fun and interesting selection of books and magazines. Staff is very helpful and will order a book if they don't have have with no extra charge. I love supporting local book stores!
