In Short – This fish emporium attracts businessmen, laborers and soul-food aficionados--proof is in the line that snakes out the door, and the patio with almost every seat filled. The line moves quickly, however, as customers shout out orders and clerks respond in kind once dishes are prepared. There are breaded and fried sand dabs, shrimp and fish, as well as charbroiled versions, including lobster, sea bass and catfish. The market sells fresh fish, shrimp and some pre-made menu items.

Great food, lots of oil

by lar9149

I am giving them a five star cause their food absolutely taste great. But they do put a lot of oil in it so if you health cautious, it may not be the best place for you.

Best Sea Bass EVER

by chlorine53

The Fisherman's Outlet is my all-time favorite seafood restaurant. From the guys memorizing 15 different orders to the tastiest cajun sauce I've ever had, this place is an A+++++++. I go to LA for business meetings at least once a month, and always eat lunch at the Fisherman's Outlet. Hopefully they expand to San Francisco someday!

  • Pros: Food, Value
  • Cons: Wait time

Holy Yum!! The best seafood in the U.S.!!!!

by bette1stl

Went the other day to Fisherman's Outlet, after I'd driven past it and was reminded of having come to a similar place (turns out it was the same place!) with my mom years earlier. Chose Fisherman's Outlet over the nearby Catch 21 because of the packed parking lot. Holy *&^@#$!!!! It was by far THE BEST, freshest frigging sea bass I've ever eaten (along with Mariscos Mazatlan in Cabo San Lucas). We stuffed ourselves silly with fried shrimp ($7 for tons of large, plump, delicious shrimp), soup (the red chowder), and sea bass with rice. Get it with cajun sauce on the side or in butter garlic sauce. Both are so incredible, you'll dream about it until the next time you go back. I am the kind of person who will drive and hour and a half to Ventura to get to Neptune's Net. Now I don't have to! WOO HOO! A perfect 10.

  • Pros: Best Seafood I have EVER had in LA hands down.
  • Cons: Only open for lunch!
