“Our son's fav is the masala thosai, a huge roll-up crispy savoury pancake with spicy potatoes filling, accompanied by a lentil gravy, uh-uh yum!”
No-frills "Little India" resto-shop is where locals flock for vegetarian meals and sweet dessert deals..
A lavender-colored neon light broadcasts the "Sweets & Snacks" found directly below inside the glass display case at the center of this laidback neighborhood fixture. Local families trickle in throughout the day--and even more so in the evening--ordering to-go treats or grabbing a table and choosing from Gujarati thalis (South Indian plates) like veggie masala dosa (savory-filled crispy-thin pancakes) and palak paneer.
Fantastic Fast Food Indian Style. Being of Indian origin myself, I am very particular when it comes to Indian restaurants. Jay Bharat serves Gujarati-style Indian food. This is a small restaurant that has recently been remodeled and it looks great! Food is served fast-food style, but it is the quality of the food that keeps me coming back for more- it is excellent! The atmosphere and tasty snack foods remind me of snack shops back in India. Particularly good are the Pav Vada and Pav Bhaji, but the other snack foods and Indian Chai Tea are delicious, too! This is a great place to stop by for a snack or a full meal!
gem in little india. Living in Singapore's Little India, we were spoilt to bits with cheap & excellent indian vegetarian food. And we're happy to find Jay Bharat filling in the void for us in LA. The Gujerati Thali is our favourite choice, and I swear to turn vegetarian each time we left the restaurant! Also the appetiser plate, consisting of several different fried finger foods is a hit too. Our son's fav is the masala thosai, a huge roll-up crispy savoury pancake with spicy potatoes filling, accompanied by a lentil gravy, uh-uh yum!
Good food. Long wait.. Waited 45 mins for the food recently. Food was very good. You have to hunt for your own table. Not enough space between tables.
