The Scene – Hidden away in a downstairs corner of the opulent Biltmore hotel, this sleek Japanese fusion spot is decorated in a corporate-Zen mix of soothing blonde wood, stark black columns and floral patterned chairs. Servers are well-informed, snappy and friendly. – – The Food – The signature dish here is the large pan-fried oysters, bath in a mix of Japanese green peppers and salsa. Seared salmon is a smoky and robust, gently cooked by a light shower of hot sesame oil and flecked with black and white sesame seeds. Yellowtail seviche is served in a hand-carved ice…

Best sushi and service around!

by waypickyeater

I can't imagine what happened to those other 2 low-raters on Valentine's Day ... Sai Sai is an EXCELLENT gem of a restaurant. I do lunch there at least once a week, and the food (sushi especially) and service are always wonderful. The sushi selection is great and always fresh, the ambiance very peaceful.

Terrible service

by Jamk

We went there for Valentine's day. It was a set menu and cost $90 per person. The host took us to our seats and left without saying a word. We were waiting for another couple to join us for dinner for at least 25 minutes. No one came to our table to greet us or even bring us some water. There are total 4 waiters and they weren't busy at all. Throughout the entire evening, our waitress didn't come to our table and ask how we are doing or if we like the food. At the end, my husband asked for the check and it didn't come until 20 minutes later. When it finally came, my husband said "we have been waiting for the check at least 20 minutes". She replied " I see." She did not apoligize or smile at all. We were all upset by the service the whole time. And on top of it, the 17% gratitute was automatic included with the total amount. I do not recommand this restaurant to anyone and we certainly will not go back again.

oh heck no.

The interior design is simple and clean.

I went there for Valentine's dinner and what a disappointment.

We had the seared scallops, tuna tartar, nori covered tuna tadaki, black cod, sushi (yellowtail, salmon belly, & unagi), and spicy pear ice cream.

The food was ok...a little on the salty side.

We waited forever for our sushi only to find out that the chef totally forgot our order.

And when he finally got the order right, he told us that the items we selected were sold out.

The server was kind enough to offer us homemade ice cream on the house,

but too much spice and not enough pear for my taste.

Oh and watch out for their leaky tea pots.

With the crazy traffic that we had to endure just to get there, the mediocre food,

and the very very rude valet ticketer (is that what you call them?),

I don't think I'll ever go back there again.

  • Pros: clean interior
  • Cons: parking, forgetful sushi chef, leaky tea pots
