Do not purchase your watch here or take it here for service. This is a small mom's and pop's shop struggling to survive that will cut corners to save costs. They will take your money happily but you will regret disregarding my advice, I guarantee you. I purchased my fathers $379 watch for his birthday here with my savings. I told my dad that I had purchased it brand new. My father informed me that the watch had subtle signs of use and that it was clearly a returned item and that he was happy to have gotten it but that I should have not paid retail price. While he didn't want to make me feel bad he was uneasy at the fact that the man at this watch shop had taken advantage of me. However, we decided to let it go and he kept the watch. Four days later the battery died and three days after that (a week later) I took it back to have the battery replaced. I told the man he had sold me a returned or used item and he said that wasn't true that my father probably didn't like it and that's why he said that even though my father had put this watch in his wish list for his birthday (I still can't believe the man said that about my father). When I asked the man if he would replace the battery he said he could give me another one but would have to charge me $22 to install it. I agreed and he got a battery from a drawer where they store a bunch of little parts and have other things (not from a sealed package). He installed the battery and 30 seconds later gave me the watch back and I gave him his $22. My biggest mistake was not checking to make sure it worked thoroughly. The watch was ticking but the date didn't work and when I got home that night my dad found out that the watch ticked but the date on the little square wouldn't turn. Wanting to alleviate the situation so I wouldn't have to go back to deal with the shop my dad opened the watch and guess what he found? The brand new $379 watch had a lot of rust inside the case. The next morning my dad and I went back to the shop and the guy who had sold me the watch went to the back and another man came out. Very politely he asked if he could assist us and after explaining the situation he asked for the receipts since I didn't have them. He said that there was nothing he could do until we came back with the receipts and that the other guy was gone for the day. Being such a small shop and my watch probably being the only watch they sold that week I thought they would remember me and not ask for all the documentation. But after jumping through all the hoops and taking the receipts with the original packaging he said that unfortunately the warranty they give had been voided because my dad opened the watch and that we would have to send it to the manufacturer. The other option was for him to fix it and that they usually charge $90 to fix something like that but being that I had just purchased it he could do it for $25. My dad explained that the rust present inside the watch could not possibly had grown in a week but the guy just kept on saying sorry, sorry sorry. So my dad ended up paying $25 to have his brand new birthday gift fixed. My brother did research on them and found out they purchase a lot of open box and refurbished watches on ebay. Could it be that they buy them to sell them at the shop as new items??? I hope you find this review helpful and if you decide to ignore it, make sure you come back and confirm what i have said when you get screwed, good luck.
