TOO MANY KIDS RUNNING AROUND. We went for sunday brunch. The place was complete chaos with little kids running around screaming EVERYWHERE. The food was all right nothing to brag about. Not worth how expensive it is.

Terrible service, rude staff. We held an event at the Reef and received the worst service I've ever seen. The staff was invisible, the food was cold, the chicken was raw in the middle and bleeding (veins -- yuck), the bartenders had a hard time with English and refused to call for cabs for guests (although they called cabs for the another party next door for a family that spoke only Spanish). The wait staff didn't realize that we speak Spanish and could understand them making fun of us. Completely unprofessional. I'll never go there again.

Great restaurant. I have been eating at the Reef for many years, ever since it opened and was decorated in Hawaiian Island Decor. It has always been a good experience, but now it is great. The views from the bar and the dining room are amazing. Whenever we have family or friends visit Calif. we immediately make reservations at the Reef.

I must admit this coming Father's Day will be the first time we have tried the Sunday Brunch. Our favorite Brunch has always been Queen Mary. But if it is as good as I have heard we probably will spend many more Sundays at the Reef.

The service for us has always been great, and food is delicious. I would recommend this as a top pick for eating out in Long Beach area.

Best Sunday Brunch anywhere --- with Augie. I would love to give 5 Stars -- but here's why I can only give 4

-TWO things about The Reef...

#1 - the Waiter Augie = WONDERFUL, Outstanding!!!

#2 - the Manager Fred = Unprofessional, RUDE and completely Disrespectful !!!!!

- Sunday Brunch @ The Reef is the most wonderful experience I've ever had... Why? you ask -- well -- the food is great - the View is incredible... but -- you can get that and MORE @ the Queen Mary, right?! - What makes The Reef so Awesome -- is AUGIE - My Favorite Waiter!! He makes Brunch more enjoyable than you can safely have in the continental united states...lol

I've been going to Sunday Brunch @ the Reef for over 5 years -- I've had Augie all but twice on a Monthly basis... i've also had brunch at MANY other locations -- and every single time -- I kick myself for NOT going to The Reef with Augie...

SO --- if you're looking for an awesome brunch with LOTS of fun you're friends will THANK you ----

Go to The Reef and BE SURE to request AUGIE's section --- NOW -- I must also warn you -- the Manager FRED is a very nasty, mean & rude man -- so He may try to decline your request for Augie's section -- do NOT let that stop you...

Demand his section or tell them you'll WAIT until a table is available -- I PROMISE you won't be sorry!!!

Great place!. I love the scenic views and seafood at The Reef. Service was great, but once i had to wait a while for a table although i had reservations. Price is right. Love the calamari and clam chowder! Would not recommend the jambalaya or the risotto...the risotto changed for some reason, in the past it was delicious.

Try this restaurant for brunch. You must request AUGIE'S section - HE'S AMAZING!!!. This restaurant does a great Sunday Brunch. The view is terrific. The price is nice. What makes this restaurant different is a server named AUGIE. He will make you laugh all day. So much so that my family (total of 12 people) wants to make Sunday Brunch at The Reef a monthly occasion. You must insist on sitting in his section. They will try to sit you in other server's sections but it is not the same experience. He is very popular and fills up quickly. If you are lucky enough to sit in his section he will make your day. We found that its a great time for all and we end up talking about Sunday brunch all week and what Augie did or said. He is a LONG BEACH Treasure. The Reef is lucky to have him.

Great food; bad service. We had a function in one of the private rooms (buffet style). The food was delicious, but the service was terrible and unfair. We were not allowed to take home our leftovers. We did not care too much about the main courses, but wanted to take home the dessert. We had about 5 different cakes and some were left untouched. Also, one of the waiters broke a glass at our table, sweared out loud (even though children were seated there), and did not clean up all the bits of glass. I would go back to have dinner, but would not have any type of function there ever again........

Great view, good service and food.. Thank god i have navigation in my lexus because i dont know where i would have ended up. This place was a little difficult to find coming from Torrance.

Still, this restaurant has a beautiful view of downtown Long Beach and the waterfront. Our server Brianna was great as well. Very attentive.

As for dinner however, my gfriend and i HIGHLY enjoyed the crab cakes. I had the NY Steak and she had the Waterfront Mixed Grill Sampler. I ordered mine medium rare but came out more well done. :( As for her order, she enjoyed her plate very much.

For two ice teas, crab cakes, two entrees, desert w/ tip came a little under $100. It was a special occassion so it was well worth it.

Beautiful View + Excellent Food :). My bf and I had dinner at The Reef on a saturday nite...Truly one of the best view of long beach, ca :) Ambiance of the restaurant was great -- even when there was a wedding going on -- the dinning area they sat us was nice and quiet and had a GREAT view of the marina :) Our server (Brianna) was EXCELLENT :) Food was great and the bill was reasonable. Overall, I would highly recommend the restaurant :) Oh, FYI --there is NO dress code for the restaurant :)
