The Scene
In business since 1934, Acres of Books is packed to the rafters with used books. Close to a million volumes line row upon row of floor-to-ceiling shelves--seven are devoted entirely to the subject of death and there's a wall that serves as an ostensible shrine to "Star Wars." Those who love browsing can easily spend a couple of hours here and buy six or seven books for just $20. The collection of art and architecture books is incredible, although chances are the old computer and software manuals will continue collecting dust til Kingdom Come.

I spent almost three hours going through the stacks, and I only covered about 35% of the store. There are some real bargains there, so it is well worth youre your time to be patient while searching. Those with allergies be warned: the dust level is off the scale.
