Great food, wine selection and service!

I have been here for special occasions and just at a whim for the last 3 years. The service is OUTSTANDING and the food is awesome! The wine selection is one of the best in the area and if you want to bring your own nice bottle of wine in the corkage fee is fair. Parking can be a tad bit challenging but all well worth the hassel for the great consistent food, amazing appetizers and salads and attentive restaurant staff. BRAVO!

  • Cons: Parking can be a beast in that area, just valet

Great Italian .........

As a former Italian New Yorker with parents from Italy, I was born with an appreciation of great/fresh Italian food.. I really enjoy Nico's Italian dishes and it's intimate setting........ Bonus points for the excellent wine list... This is a great romantic date spot...

The Best in Long Beach

We do try a lot of new restaurants every week, Nico's by far is still the best in long beach. Great wine list, exellent service, and a killer Osso bucco. we Love it.

Pleasantly VERY surprised

There were five of us that showed up about 10 minutes early on a Friday night. Instead of making us wait, which is what they initially told us, they gave us a corner booth big enough for 8-10 right away. Among the five of us, we tried 3 appetizers (grilled vegetables, gnocchi and scallops), 4 entrees, a salad and soup. EVERYthing was VERY flavorful and delicious. The wine recommendation was superb and service was prompt yet not over-bearing. But the portions were HUGE... by the time we finished the apps, none of us could finish our entrees (except the sweet potato-carrot soup, which was the BEST I have EVER had). The ambience was great for conversation - intimate, cozy sans the creepiness. The only drawback was the seared ahi... But this Italian-influenced modern American is a gem and we definitely plan on going back.
