Taco Surf. This is an easy to get into and eat, fun kind of a restaurant. It has a relaxed atmosphere and a good selection of Taco style food items.
Crowded, but tasty!. Five of us went here on a Saturday afternoon. The place was extremely crowded and it was rather difficult to get a table (no hostess to take names, so fights between hungry customers may break out). We had to struggle to get a table, but once we were seated we enjoyed good service and tasty food. My seafood quesadilla was excellent, as was my boyfriend's carne asada burrito. The prices are more on the expensive side (at least for seafood items) but that wouldn't keep me from coming back.
Not Recommended. I can not believe this restaurant got good reviews. I was acutally excited to go because of the reviews it got. The food was horrible, the only have wine margarita's and the waitress was rude and messed up my order twice. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Not Recommended. I can not believe that this restaurant got recommended. Anyone who appreciates good Mexican food and good service should not step one foot in this place. First off they only have wine Margarita's. Secondly, there salsa was very bland. The food was awful and the waitress was horrible. She screwed up my order twice! I wasn't about to send my order back a second time.
Good food & prices.
Very Good- carnitas plate, XX draft beer
Good- burritos, baja style fish tacos
SoSo-grilled fish tacos
Good prices and a fun atmosphere!
You could get worse on 2nd Street. There are about eight Mexican restaurants on Second Street, and Taco Surf is an acceptable choice. The $1 taco Happy Hour specials definitely make it worth the visit, but the burritos are not as good as other 2nd St. choices. But please: Skip the Coronas and go straight for the Dos Equis draft beer.
Killer Fish Tacos. I had my first fish taco here and haven't found better ones. Very casual place with a laid back beach cabana atmosphere (but prompt service). Baja style fish tacos and tostadas are awsome. On a chilly evening go for the tortilla soup. Could get a little crowded on around happy hour but you can put your name in and window shop on 2nd Street. We go to the one on Main St. in Seal Beach if we want it quieter. Great food, cheap prices.
More than just tacos. My friend took me to this place and let me tell you that they have more than just Tacos. The entire menu looks good, but the best plate I had was the fish plate with avocados. The sauce used on the fish was excellent...the fish is not fried, it is grilled. The service is excellent, the waiters and the manager give great service at Taco Surf. It makes you want to come back for more.
Taco Surf Delight. My boyfriend and I eat here at least once every other week. I recommend the taco's, flautas or try a salad, you will be pleasantly surprised. It is an inexpensive restaurant for what you get - good service, good food and great atmospher. The location cannot be beat. After a good dinner or lunch you can go shopping on 2nd street.
