In Short – Opened as a piano bar in the 1940s, the brown panel walls of this dive are covered with beer banners and newspapers documenting different momentous occasions in history. On most nights, regulars gather at the long, narrow bar and set the mood by slipping dollars into a jukebox. The occasional catfight has been known to break out. The bottom line here is the drinks are cheap and the people, for the most part, are friendly. – – –
Ruddest Bartender
by MichelleC888 at Citysearch
The bartender Matt is the ruddest bar tender I have ever met. This place has a line when it's not even that busy and then the bar tenders take for ever with .. with his attitude.
- Pros: Local
- Cons: Rude Bartender

That is all shannons gets, but that's a good thing, we don't go there for any other reason, it is one of the greatest dive bars you will find. Anyone who has been here knows it smells, and that is part of the ambiance. Cheap strong drinks just like the station. Everytime i go there seems to be a fight, go figure.
Best night: Tuesdays!
by neilknight at Citysearch
for some reason Tuesday is the best night to go here. If you get there after 10pm on tuesday, friday or saturday be prepared to wait in line for about 15 minutes. especially when school is in session because a lot of people from long beach state come here.
