Monrovia >Chili's Grill & Bar
great place, beyond nasty skinless buffalo wings, pretty good fries, really good desserts, pretty good happy hour, gotta love presidente margiritas, delightful chicken crispers
Sure. It's better than Denny's.
keep telling myself, "I'm never eating here ever again" because 1) the drinks are overpriced for the location/what you get, and 2) the food is really, really bad for you here. I even feel the fat inject into my thighs as I place my order. I guess the only thing that's really saved me from a life subject to morbid obesity is the fact that the calories and other nutritional facts are required by law in establishments that have more than 10 operations in CA. Thank you Arnold!
The bar area is sort of small, as is the dining room area. The layout is weird, and you have to walk through crowded tables to get to the restroom. The service is hit or miss. Sometimes when you ask a question about the menu the guy or girl will just sort of look at you with a blank stare as if you asked them a question about String Theory, but they are very nice and attentive. They are also throroughly trained in the art of upselling. No easy task "in this economy!"
It's never my first choice, nor my second or third, however if a friend wants to dine in or grab a drink for happy hour who am I to say no? It's in the neighborhood and it's low-key/non-descript. There is no fuss when going to Chili's. Maybe there's something to be said about that.
Check your skinny-b****-diet at the door, because it's all downhill from here and it ain't pretty.
Families and an after-work crowd come to this relaxed Tex-Mex chain for sizzling fajitas and a buzzing bar scene..
Festive decor of colorfully tiled tables, vintage photographs and sunny Southwestern accents welcomes an all-ages crowd at this informal hangout. Youngsters and their parents pile into dining room booths; casual business types toss back margaritas and watch televised sports at the bar. The menu features mild versions of Lone Star state favorites, from double-basted baby back ribs and steak fajitas to red-beef chili and deep-fried onions.
Ughh may never go back again!. The St Louis style ribs were tough and fat filled. I'm not too sure if the baby back ribs are more tender. As far as the fajitas go. I burned my entire mouth on a black pepper ball that I didnt expect to be in there. My insides were on fire for a good 5 minutes and totally ruined any fun I planned on having later on in the night. The Margaritas are blah. Good thing they have a satisfaction garuntee on them. I got my money back on it. The skinless buffalo wings are beyond nasty. They really are chili! Hence the name of the restaurant. The chicken crispers are delightful. Bbq sauce would be a better sauce to dip them in though. As for the service. Below par is an understatement. The waiter came by about once every 30 minutes.
Margarita Madness. Oh, gotta love this place for their Margaritas, though they aren't always consistent. More often than not they're really good, but twice they were mediocre. Now for the food...They have this really good lunch/dinner if you're watching what you eat. It's a half sandwich (a really good turkey sandwich, well seasoned and tasty) and a salad or soup. My soup recommendation is the broccoli cheese, now I could have just that for dinner, it's so good. Their fries are pretty good, as is their Burgers and Ribs. They also have really good desserts, though they are rather large, so its good to share. It's good for kids and romantic as well. Oh, and a pretty good happy hour for drinks after work. Oh, and you can order to go!
Um Um Good... This is a great restaurant for groups, couples, kids, and to watch sports. There are seating booths and a bar. You gotta love the Presidente Margiritas here! They are delicious. Try the other alcoholic drinks! Chili's is known for it's baby back ribs and they are delicious. Another recomondation is the fajitas! This restaurant can get crowded on a Friday or Saturday night, but the wait is never longer than 30 min.
