Our Family Favorite!!. El Charro has been a family favorite for many years and has the best Chili Verde around! Having tried all of the local Mexican restaurants in the area (including Joselito's which is mediocre at best!!), El Charro is head and shoulders above them all. We have been there many times in the past several years, and have always been treated wonderfully by all of the staff!! And the food has always been great!! Don't let a "one-star whiner" dissuade you from trying this gem of a restaurant in the heart of Montrose!! It's been there forever, and there is a reason for that!!

never again. We waited an hour,but told 15 min. on 2 different occasions- and then told we were next, then told 2 large parties ahead of us... ??? Then we were told ( in a very rude manner ) they just couldn't seat large parties of 6. I don't mind a wait, I do mind being lied to and treated so poorly. I'll never go back and I'll tell everyone I know. I would have given them no stars but the system won't let me!

Greeeeeeeeat food! With exceptional service!. Greeeeeeeeat food. Besides from their famous taco tuesday anything ordered from this place is amazing..from their staff to food. bus boys are amazing and always restocking whatever you need! Awesome food with great service. 10x better than the place down the street. Don't forget to try the mints at the pay counter and check out there history while you wait!

No wonder it's usually empty. While Joselito's was full, my friends and I tried this place after the Christmas parade. Surprised it wasn't crowded until we got seated. Service was terrible, the waittress got everything wrong. A crowd of drunken people celebrating a birthday were too loud and monopolizing the "ambiance," which consisted of low lighting. Food was bland and overpriced. Don't buy the guacamole, it's a rip off. Overall, I'd stick with Joselito's which is just a block down from here.

Taco Tuesday's. All day Tuesday's are "Taco Tuesday" at El Charro's. They are the best tasting tacos I have ever had! The tacos are loaded with shredded beef or chicken! On Tuesday's only, tacos are $1.25!! (50 cents extra for guacamole and sour cream) It is a great family location. Young people, as well as long time residents, love this small town atmosphere in the town of Montrose.
