My Compliments

My brother Simon is presently a patient in your facility.
After all departments assessed him, a care plan conference call was set up for me to receive an update on his condition/prognosis.
It's most unusual to have this sort of service, and I must say that I was very pleased to receive the call, get all my questions answered and have your team tell me all I needed to know, including their commitment to follow up on items still to be resolved.
Please let everyone know how much I appreciate their efforts, and how satisfying it is to find people who are still willing to go the extra step to show concern and caring.
My compliments to you and your staff.

Excellent Facility!

My father was a patient for 8 weeks. When he entered, he could hardly use his right leg and right arm.
The Charge Nurse and staff were great. They took care of giving him his meds on time, taking care of his laundry, helping with showers, keeping his room clean and neat, helping with his walks and all of his other daily needs.
The staff in Social Services were a tremendous help to us as a family. They took the time and care to help us with phone calls, scheduling appointments and meetings as well as attending to setting up his nursing care and physical therapy at home. What a well run department!
After 6 weeks of Physical Therapy, dad was walking with the help of a walker and starting to walk on his own. They worked with him and gave him excellent care. Unbelievable!
Last, but not least, the food was excellent. When dad didn't like something, the next day it was noted on his card and replaced with other things that he enjoyed. Amazing!
While sitting outside in the patio area, I mentioned that the area needed a little cleaning and updating, and before we left, it was looking much better.
This is a top notch facility and we truly appreciate everything they did.
- Pros: Helpful, courteous, excellent rehabilitation
- Cons: Outside patio area (was improved while we were there!)
They let you in, but the won't let you out

I recently had a poor experience trying to transfer my aunt to another facility to be with her husband @ his care facility and was told no problem, but then all these horrible roadblocks were thrown at me. I was called back and told it wasn't possible, it would be better to transfer her husband to them, I was told she was in critical condition and under strict isolation, I questioned the sudden problems and if my aunt was
so critical why wasn't she transferred to a hospital setting and was told at that point she wasn't that bad. Then I was told it would be very risky due to her condition. I had my Uncle's facility Director of Nursing contact the Director of Nursing @ New Vista and they were told different senarios and New Vista apparrently couldn't keep track of all their lies and inconsistancies. Finally got my aunt transferred 4 days after the requested transfer date with many phone calls and confrontations. I got the impression they were milking my aunt's insurance payments for 4 more days by conducting these bogus delays.
During the course of her stay @ New Vista, she failed to thrive, she started out @ 87lbs and lost 5lbs within one month and they managed to give her an infection and didn't take proper precautions for her
well being and allowed her to fall out of her wheelchair, fortunately there weren't any broken bones.
I can't really recommend their facility due to all that transpired with in one month of care, she's very lucky to get out alive and is beginning to thrive in her new environment.
- Pros: convenient location for the immediate community, physical therapy is dilligent
- Cons: smell, dated decor, acknowledgement at the nursing stations could be improved, felt ignored or that I was bothering them
