Value for the Dollar!.
Here's something you don't see everyday in Old Town Pasadena: good eats that don't leave your wallet flat! Their tamales leave a little to be desired, but I've enjoyed everything else I've tried on the menu. The Torta (hence the name of the restaurant!) is their signature dish. It's basically a large mexican sandwich served on a bread roll sliced horizontally. The carne asada (beef) is my favorite, but the pollo (chicken) is good too. Want something different? Try the Tinga de Pollo -- chicken with a bit of zing. Some like it hot -- if this is you, ask for the salsa roja (red sauce). Not you? No problem, ask for the salsa verde (green sauce) which is far milder.

Good Breakfast, great price.
This is a small eatery with the best breakfast and tortas. They have different tortas. You name it, they have it all the way to Cubano torta to ham torta. There pricing are great less than $10.00 a meal

Unsung hero of Old Town lunchtime.
Tortas Mexico is sweet refuge from Old Town trediness for workers in search of a simple, inexpensive lunch. Tortas are the shining star of this little place. Get the shredded pork or the beef, and you'll swear you were in heaven. Burritos and tacos are also excellent, since they utilize the same ingredients as the tortas. You won't find anything fancy here. Grilled vegetables, flan, and seviche are not part of this restaurant's vocabulary, and they don't need to be. Tortas Mexico does just fine without.
