In Short – Established in California in 1958, this all-American chain is decked out with stone accents, dark woods, and classic photography that hearkens back to the restaurant's beginnings. The original menu featured four steak options; today, guests choose from steaks, burgers and sandwiches, St. Louis-style pork ribs, and signature "sizzlin' platters" of garlic-herb chicken or grilled seafood. The famous salad bar offers more than 90 items, including desserts and hot appetizers.

Great salad bar

by tyneshad at Citysearch

I only come here for the salad bar. If I wasn't adept at reading the mammoth menu they have on the wall when you come in, I wouldn't even know they served anything else.

I like the fact that this place is clean, I saw attendants keeping watch over the salad bar regularly, and that made me feel comfortable to eat at will. And eat I did.

Everything from fresh produce to cooked soups and meats kept me piling plates mighty high.

No Sizzle from this place

by jerry_watkins at Citysearch

The steak tasted like marinaded shoe leather! The potato had buds coming out of it. The all you can eat shrimp?!??!? This shrimp tasted like it came off the last bubba gump shrimp boat! Sizzler's just like denny's..a wannabee steakhouse, a wannabe restaurant, and a wannabe business all together! I never care to come back. What for? I can always go to Von's and buy a 2 dollar steak that'll taste just as good! Sizzler's show some respect for that brand name you have and dish out some quality!

Not a Real Steakhouse

by taradelis_citysearch at Citysearch

It always astounds me the amount of money people are willing to spend here, yet they still think they're getting a good deal. I don't know that there is such a thing as imitation lobster, but if so they have it down to a science. I can see wanting to save money on dinner, in which case there's no reason to come here. It's really not that inexpensive, and the food quality is not great.

If you do have to order something, the healthiest choice would be the salad bar. Otherwise, be daring and try the Malibu Chicken (chicken patty with ham and cheese on top). Dip it in their distictive mix of mayo and mustard.
