Editorial Review for Freddie's 35er Bar – by Patrick Green

In Short
Catching a buzz and the big game at this rough-and-tumble neighborhood bar has been a Pasadena pastime for more than 40 years. The "Diver," as it is affectionately known, is a family owned and operated, no-frills, watering hole that hasn't changed much since it opened in 1962. Boisterous banter, alcohol propaganda decor and stale beer smell are trademarks of this sports bar.

This place is in the heart of it all in Pasadena. My girlfriend loves to go shopping along this block and a stop at the 35'er is always on my list when we do. I've actually never been here late night but the atmosphere is a pretty fun. The staff created some great cocktails for Valentine's day which they are still selling...ask for the Valentine's Kiss or the Ginger Rose. I sampled all of the special drinks and liked them all except the Sugar Plum.

Pros: Great staff, cheap drinks

Cons: parking
