delicious food, fresh fish, nice place, really great seafood, favorite seafood restaurant, fast service, favorite dish
Good Fish and Chips without flying to England.. "Call me Ishmael"...or Call me hungry. That's why my wife and I had stopped off here at noon after finishing some errands for our business. I'm usually a little more cautious of seafood places, but it's one of my wife's favorite dishes. I'm glad we stopped in because we had a real nice time and attentive service, but only two or three couples were in the place midweek. I had a Fish and Chips dish which was exceptional, and she had creamy scallops and pasta. We sat and talked without feeling pressured to "clear out." Ambiance and decor were perfect and I liked that for a fish place...it didn't smell too fishy, especially considering it also doubles as a fresh fish market. The only thing hard about the experience was deciding what to put away in the doggie-bag for later. Captain Ahab could have had Moby filleted and grilled with a side salad had he come here first. We'll be back again someday - with respect to Mr. Melville.
Family-friendly fish house caters to regulars who know exactly what they want--and a lot of it..
In Short
An ice-packed seafood counter near the entrance gives patrons a hint of what's to come. Porthole-shaped mirrors, photographs of fishermen and wall-mounted fiberglass fish add character to the spacious dining room. House-specialty New England clam chowder is served in a sourdough bread bowl, chock-full of clams and potatoes. Raw bar picks include seasonal oysters on the half shell. Daily seafood selections can be baked, sauteed, grilled, fried or tossed into salads.
BEST SEA FOOD RESTAURANT IN PASADENA. Best selection of sea food. Cooked to your specific taste. Clam chowder is their claim to fame and is a must for all. I have never been disappointed in the 15 years I have enjoyed this restaurant. Waiters are friendly and very helpfull. A must for any sea food lover who is in Pasadena
The Clam Chowder!!!. Haven't been back sinced '93, as much as I remember, their "Clam Chowders" were incomparable and one of the best. The bar was nice and they had free clams at the time.
Better than expected!. After hearing that they had gone downhill in that past few years, and then hearing that now the menu has been revamped, we gave it a try. I ordered the Blackened Halibut which was cooked perfectly. The clam chowder and baked potato were some of the best that I have ever eaten (and I have eaten a lot!). Friend ordered the Scallopes wrapped in Applewood bacon - she loved it, along with the scalloped potatoes and coleslaw. Will definitely go back! Bread was delicious, but could have been sliced into thicker slabs like at other seafood places.
