Great sushi chef!. First time I've felt compelled to write a review. Excellent sushi and wonderful sushi chef (Fuji!). We've followed this guy around to different restaurants and are so glad he's back in Pasadena! Word spreads easily amongst his loyal customers. Very friendly staff. Park in back, behind restaurant.

New place opened. The last review sure sounds more like an advertisement that the typical restaurant review I read on Citysearch by Joe Average Reviewer. I wonder if that is from a real customer or really someone associated with the restaurant. Sounds very fishy.

If you were ever at the old Masa, its doubtful you will like the new Masa. Not sure when they upgraded the decor and prices and "conceptualized it" into a higher end "sake bar" (and downgraded the food and service), why didn't they call it something hip and eclectic to match the new atmosphere.

Haven't seen a good review that looks legitimate on the review sites. Read 3 bad reviews that look real.

Pasadena's best sushi secret. Great service. Friendly people. Excellent sushi and sake. What more could you want. Masa is a no-nonsense, straight-up sort of sushi restaurant. If you want bells and whistles, head to LA and pay too much. If you want a great meal served by some of the nicest folks in SoCal, come to Masa. You'll want to load up on the fish, but save room for the Oreo tempura with mango flavored ice cream. It's worth every calorie!
