big sandwiches, great place, sloppy service, like turkey, really nice poeple, big french dip, good spot
Fabulous (HUGE) Sandwiches.
We went here based on a picture we saw in a magazine. I took one look and thought, "this is my kind of place!"
In we went and full we left. We ordered a pepper jack cheese sandwich which was delightful. It was loaded with cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo and mustard. Yummers! The service was prompt, nothing over the top, all ordered are served on sturdy paper plates.
The potato salad is uber tasty too, I would recommend an order on the side.
Only drawback? Closed on Sundays. :-(
Great Sandwiches, Great Service, Good Prices. This small sandwich shop is definitely one of the best sandwich places in the San Gabriel Valley, if not all of LA County. They have a large menu selection of sandwiches, and each and every choice is guaranteed to be LARGE. If you can't make up your mind what you want that day, you can order the "Trust the Cook" sandwich, which never has failed to disappoint. (Be prepared for a little bit of everything) Even during peak times, the service has never been slow or sloppy. If you are in a hurry you can place your order ahead of time by phone. The prices might be a little higher than the Subway and Togo's chains, but you won't be left unsatisfied by the size or quality of your order. You won't be disappointed by a big French Dip, Pastrami, or a more customized sandwich like the Chicago or the Sheepherder. If that isn't enough order some fries to go along with it. This is a great place to grab a sandwich and everyone should try it at least once. You won't regret it.
Big Sandwiches. This is a little known lunch spot that has sandwiches big enough to share with a friend. I like the roast beef and turkey. Walk up counter, not very fancy.
My dad always told me... "Go eat where you see the guys that work for the city eat". This is good advice and has yet to fail. And you will always find a cop, a street worker, a school superintendent or other social worker at this place. Great big sandwiches, super friendly people and all at a price that will make you feel like a thief for the amount of food you get.
Cheap sandwiches, with tables!. So, if you want to get a cheap lunch, actually sit down, and not eat a burger, this place is good spot. The sandwiches are pretty big so I recommend you get a half-sandwich with soup. The bread is standard stuff, likely not baked on premises. But they make up for it by stuffing those anemic bread slices with _huge_ quantities of meat and cheese.
