Best Chinese Food in La Crescenta.
The food is FANTASTIC, the atmosphere is cozy and all the staff are so friendly and they have great service.
I recommend trying the spicy chicken and the seafood combination, WOW!
They even have sauces that you can buy for take out with the chicken wings and a delicious sauce for Korean bar-b-q. Yummy.
BEST chicken/shrimp dishes!. I'm actually really surprised to see ANY bad reviews of this place. I have been going to this restaurant with my family for a while now (as well as for any casual business dinners/celebrations), and I've never received anything less than amazing from them. Their service is always really great and friendly. I totally recommend the peking chicken and honey walnut shrimp. Soooo yummy :)
Best Chinese Food Ever. Best chinese food ever. Must I suggest the Peking Chicken and Honey Walnut shrimps. We first went with a family member and have been hooked ever since. I now recomment to everyone and it has also become our usually for out Friday night gatherings. The food is awesome. The service is great also.
avoid the steamers and the hot and sour soup.
Wow - I wish I'd read photog's review before I went there. I, too, saw positive reviews of this place on google and ordered a staple - steamed dumplings and hot and sour soup.
The hot and sour soup has peas and carrots in it. It has chewy (whatever the long white things are), rubbery pork, and is literally inedible. The dumplings are HUGE, but it's because the dough is incredibly thick. You're eating giant pieces of terrible-tasting dough.
Not to mention that said meal cost me $16. It's horrible and overpriced. Avoid.
Tasty chinese? Not here.
One night while trying to figure out what to eat my girlfriend and I decided on chinese. So we did a quick search of places near by and one that came up was House of Joy.
It had some decent reviews online so we made the short drive from our apartment to check it out. It was kind of pricey to me but I assumed that meant it was worth it.
Not really. I just got some chicken chow mein and my girlfriend got the moo goo gai pan (chicken and vegetables) which both came out much later than I would have expected.
It smelled decent enough and we were quite anxious to dig in upon our arrival home.
We did and discovered that smell can trick you.
Mine was so-so...actaully.for the price it was quite poor and my girlfriend HATED hers and it made her sick.
There is a quick drive through place back home in Kansas City that served up tastier chinese food for easily 1/4 of the price of this place.
I won't go here again and I suggest you do the same.
Best Chinese food in Glendale. What a pleasant surprise! I'm very discriminating when it comes to Chinese food and this little gem serves up some of the tastiest I've ever had. The ambience leaves a little bit to be desired with close quarter seating but the service is prompt and the prices are good. Bottom line, if you want FANTASTIC food, this place will not disappoint. Must try: Peking Chicken.
