Squeezed between Brand Boulevard's shiny car dealerships, this cheery Peruvian eatery is clean, bright and homey. Neighborhood crowds gather around white tablecloths, retro-style padded chairs and comfy booths, amidst mirrors, flowers and colorful murals of Colonial Peru. Peruvian seafood specialties include mixed seviche, fried calamari, seafood chowder, spicy shrimp and whole fried fish. Other popular dishes are chicken and rice, fried steak, yucca and plantains, and boiled potatoes with creamy garlic cheese sauce.

Mamita's was fantastic. Great food, great prices, and the service was good also. Expect a bit of wait if the restaurant is full, and it typically is during the rush hour. This is an authentic Latin America restaurant so if you are a fan of one of the main stream Latin Food chain restaurants and are expecting to get your food on the clock because it was microwaved and was prepackaged from a factory in the middle of the dessert then this place is not for you. Excellent Talapia fish breaded and deep fried, muscle soup, calamari, steak and more. Authentic is the thing to remember here, think as if you were in Peru. The service is great in my opinion in fact I loved watching the employees sweating and running to take care of everyone, it simply added to the atmosphere. Remember you go to a restaurant for the food and Mamita's knows what they are doing. Further the employees were so sweet, so authentic themselves. I love this place and try to frequent it as often as possible. I take my family and friends there, we even did a mother's day party at Mamita's Peruvian Restaurant.

I had never had Peruvian food before and when I tried it for the first time it was delicious. It kind of had some of an Asian food flare to it! They had fried rice with shrimp and ceviche, the food is very exotic and great!
