Editorial Review for Foxy's Restaurant – by Randi Schmelzer
In Short
This A-framed eatery near the Glendale Galleria has catered to the area's multicultural, multigenerational crowd since 1977. Upscale diner decor--light wood furnishings replace traditional coffee shop Formica--is secondary to the American-Tex Mex menu. Popular orders include burgers, French dips, chicken Caesar and Cobb salads, and fajitas. Breakfast is the real draw: Overstuffed omelets, pancakes and chorizo-and-egg scrambles (served with secret-recipe biscuits) are all favorites. For bread connoisseurs, tabletop toasters make for carb ecstasy.

My wife and I live in Sylmar and drive to Glendale for Foxy's Chilli Relleno Omeletts and/or Barbacoa Breakfast. There's a reason why this place was voted best breakfast in 2007. If I want eggs and bacon, I'll make it at home. If I want a delicious Mexican style breakfast, I go to Foxy's. This place has Armenian bread which is great too. I love their coffee, which is made by Lingle Brothers. I guess everybody has their own taste when it comes to coffee, as I dislike Starbucks as it tastes burnt to me. There's no comparison to Denny's. It's all in what you order. I wouldn't order a Steak from any place that's open just for breakfast and lunch. This place rocks! You just have to have a logical mind when ordering. Most people get confused as the menu is diverse. Take a look at the cooks in the kitchen and get a clue on what to order!
Pros: Mexican Breakfasts, Eggs Florentine, Coffee, Armenian Bread, Toasters on the Table
Cons: Parking

I've only ever been to Foxy's for breakfast...and each time it's been like being squeezed into a sardine can. Apparently, people think it's the only place to eat breakfast in Glendale, or something. The breakfast choices are diner standards...the twist here is that you toast your own bread at the table. For me, it's pretty average.
