Great Service

I recently bought our Christmas Tree from OSH and was very impressed with the employee who helped us find just right tree. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to find out what would work best in our home. We shop at OSH at least twice a month and always find their staff to be extremely helpful (unlike Home Depot) where you can never find anyone to help you. I'm so glad we have such a great store in our neighborhood!

Possibly the Worst Service In Home Improvement...and that is a competitive category to win!

The previous reviewer thought that the bad service here was directed at women, but unfortunately they are equally bad to men. I only go to this store when I can't afford the time to drive 8 miles out of my way to Home Depot, but every time I go in, there another employee there to remind me of why I don't go there more often.

One example was walking into the lighting department and getting as far as asking "Do you know where I could find a light with..." before being abruptly interrupted with a quick "we don't have it!" I said "I am looking for a..." Again, "We don't have it!" At that point I got mad an said "Would you at least let me finish my sentence before you tell me how little you want to help me." I then explained what I needed and he said "oh, those are over there."

That is just one of 20 such stories, repeated in almost every department, including customer service. The only redeeming quality of this store is it's location, and the fact that they usually have what you are looking for...just be sure to find it yourself and don't ask for help. There is a lot of dispute in La Crescenta/Tujunga about Home Depot wanting to build in Tujunga. I, for one, would LOVE to see them tear this place down and put a Home Depot or Lowe's in it's place.

Men only.........

Maybe it is only this OSH that has poor customer service where women are concerned. The store itself has most everything that I need but whenever I have a question, especially when in the hardware dept. I have a hard time finding someone to help me.

I filled out one of their surver cards and mad the same complaint. Within one week the manager called me and apologized and even gave me a store credit. I thought this was great customer service but when I went back to shop a few months later the same thing happened again.

I appreciated the store credit but I would rather that they work with their employees and correct the sitiuation. I will continue to visit the store when I have to because their is no other choice, but if another store opens nearby I would definitely switch.
