happy hour at its best – i have been going to la paz for over 20 years . if you want a great happy hour with free buffet..... this is your place. the sunday brunch is unreal, with everything you could imagine.. and then some. my all time favorite is the whole fish and garlic. me and my sweetie are there mon and fri for happy hour. and oscar is the best and knows customer service !! im glad we live so close
Great Menudo, Momosas are great, service is the best we've had!!! – Me and my boyfriend love coming here for sunday brunch, whether its just us two or a group of ten we are served and treated perfectly. The menudo is great, seafood selection is perfect and the mexican food is the best that i have had. Even on a sunday when there is sooo many people to accomodate the servers never leave you with an empty cup. The mariachi group is so good. I highly recommend La Paz to anyone
as bad as motel 6 – poor service, organizing, and customer service skills. A group of 23 people decided to celebrate mothers day at La paz the reservation for sunday branch needed to be paid in advancea at $ 28.00 per person ether by check or cash and no refunds. Food was not the best, and overcrowred, surpass the capacity limit .
Our reservation spaces was not respected, 4 chairs was missing, as we inquired about the missing space, we was yelled at, and treated to call the police on us if we continue demaiding what we paid for, 20 minutes later they had no choice but to set up an extra table to acomodate us. the space was limited and felt like a sardine can as they improvised the car garage next to patio and acomodate arrounf 100 people, everytime we need to exit so the people sitting next to us at the end of the day Oscar the owner offered us a tequila for the inconvenience and only 3 of us took it. A bad experinece I would never go back or recomend La Paz in Calabazas CA to no one.
Best Mexican seafood. Great sunday brunch! – I love La Paz, we go for Sunday brunch all the time and have so much fun. They have a great mariachi band there on Sundays, be sure to make a reservation. For those that don't know the area, it might be a little hard to find, it's a bit tucked away. Best albondigas soup I have ever had. Comer con gusto!
Gourmet Mexican food – Absolutely excellent Mexican food and a unique menu. I particularly like the goat. The vegetable nachos are special too. If I had one complaint it's the uncomfortable chairs, but this certainly isn't a stopper.
Fresh Guacamole and huge portions – Great place to take the family or just for two. It is a larger sized restaurant so you usually don't have to wait more than a few minutes. They have a big menu with the typical tacos, enchiladas, etc. but also have the more unusual dishes. They also have great fresh guacamole which I am a huge fan of. There is nothing like ice cold beer, Mexican food and fresh guacamole. They have an interesting soup that has meatballs, try it. Salsa and chips complimentary for starters. It has an interesting decor with bicycles and dollar bills hanging from the ceiling. It is a big family restaurant with good service.
Yummmmmmm! – Fun restaurant, great food, bossy waiter (love him)! Excellent for large groups. If you're going to write a review, please spell correctly and formulate proper sentences so we can take you seriously. ;-)
Really bad customer service of all people theowner – I have gone to this restaurant and know people who use to go there for lunch I woul right around the corner. I was there this past Friday with co-workers we ran a tab at the end the evening the tab was a little over $200 nothing to outrages for about 12 people I decided to pick up the bill and when I gave my credit card I was asked for I.D. now I really didn't see why I needed to show I.D. I was told by the server that the owner wanted to see it I asked her to tell the owner to come to the table when he did I handed him my I.D. so he could see and he grabbed it and then without even looking at it he threw it at me, and started to say he was going to call the police if I didn't sign the receipt mind you I never said I was not going to sign it? before that night I had heard this man the owner was not a nice person now I know first hand why people have said that. the food is ok and the service is really not great how can employees respect customers when they see that the owner doesn't? I for one will never step foot in the place again and I will tell family and friends to do the same. So if you plan to spend $200 or more make sure if you pay witht a credit card to bring your I.D. or else they will call the police on you.
Good Mexican food, excellent choice for lunch buffet – I've been to La Paz on various occasions for lunch and the buffet can't be beat. By far, this is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area (if not the best). Decor reminds me of a cantina with the hardwood tables and natural colors. I've been here mainly for their lunch buffet and have not been disappointed thus far. The restaurant is somewhat "tucked" away since it's not easily seen from either the freeway or the road it's located on. Menu is extensive and affordable. One thing to note is to ask about the dollar bills on the ceiling from the wait staff - you're in for a surprise on how they got up there. I agree with the rating being in the 9s.
Watch out for Sunday's! – The best day to go to this restaurant is on a sunday for brunch. They have all you can eat seafood (shrimp, oysters, crab salad, salmon), meats (beef and chicken), menudo, and you can create your own omalette YUMMY!! The desserts are not that great. Along with the all you can eat buffet they offer ALL YOU CAN DRINK MARGARITAS!!! The margaritas are pretty good, however, sometimes you can taste the cheap tequilla. Overall they're good! They also have 2 mariachis that play inside and outside (patio sitting). The best time to go is in the summer...the beach is about 15 minutes away. Go with a group that likes to drink it's funner!!! PS You have to make reservations!
