Polachek Jewelers

Always greeted with a smile and they rememebered my name...I have been there a handfull of times but to have the owner remember you is a first. My first impression when I went was that this is a big operation and the items may be overpriced because of overhead but this is not the case at all and in fact after caparative shopping found that POLACHEK was priced better than SAK'S and other stores throughout Los Angeles.
Unlike many other stores that say they are having a sale or that they beat others prices and don't, they actually do and did for me and my husband.
I purchased a Cartier La Dona watch and was overjoyed at the fact that POLACHEK even carried the item I wanted. I am happy to report he called and asked if i was satisfied with my purchase 4 weeks later, and I can honestly say yes, I am! Thank you Mr. Pollachek.
- Pros: someone at the door to greet you instantly
- Cons: they dont stay open later
Buyer Beware!

I went to Polacheck to get a battery change on my watch, and they assured me that they would also do a pressure seal since they do this for all of their watches. However, water leaked into the watch and there was a lot of condensation on the glass. I took the watch back to see if they could fix the problem, and the salesperson said that they would check the watch and call me. He said that he didn't even know if the watch was salvageable and that it could cost hundreds of dollars if the watch parts were rusted. Luckily, this had happened before (when I didn't get the watch pressure sealed) and I had it fixed. An honest jeweler would take the watch back, open it, let it air dry, and return it to the customer free of charge. I didn't leave my watch with Polacheck and will be finding an alternative jeweler. If I can't trust Polacheck to do a simple battery change, would you trust them with your bigger purchases?
