Yang Chow has some yummy dishes. I loved the szechuan beef in orange peel sauce! Yum! we had a few other dishes that were good(Chicken with cashews, a shrimp dish and chow mein) . But def worth a stop when you are hungry! Portions are large and reasonably priced. Prob top 5 chinese food in the valley. Not authentic but tasty! And service was very good. Quick and efficient.

Sesame Cold Noodles - Enough Said. An amazing find. Although a common dish in NY it is hard, if not impossible, to find here. I've sampled a few other dishes from Yang Chow but only a limited number because no matter what I plan on ordering I usually get the the sesame cold noodles. I've also never had a sit down meal there but the staff is always very friendly when I come to pick up my order. Good place.

Great Chinese Food... Oustanding Service!. After hearing from a few people that this restaurant had great food, I had to try it out. We went on a Saturday and only had a 10 minute wait. The service was AMAZING and the staff was friendly and helpful. I have to recommend the slippery shrimp, it was fabulous! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves great Chinese food!

The well-charted territory of kung pao and moo shu make culinary tourists feel at home.. In Short
This beloved institution has introduced more than one neophyte diner to the joys of Chinese cuisine. Familiar favorites like moo shu pork and Szechuan beef lead the large menu, but house specialties like the famed slippery shrimp--a neon batch of sugar-coated, butterflied shrimp--should not be overlooked. Other popular dishes include sauteed string beans and hot Szechuan wonton soup with bite-sized dumplings. Kung pao chicken offers diced chicken dotted with peanuts and chopped onions.

Mediocre Americanized Chinese Food. Very disappointing and not authentic at all. I think Panda Express probably does a better job. Service is so-so, and the food is not very good. The price is also expensive for what you get.

Best Chinese I've found in LA yet. I've had Chinese all over LA, and YC is among the best, just like the dozen+ Zagat (etc.) awards on in their lobby promise. Unbeatable service combined with "perfect" Chinese food won my heart on the first visit. Fave dishes: Slippery Shrimp (they literally are famous for this one), Dry Sautéed String Beans w/Minced Pork, Shrimp Fried Rice, Sechuan Chicken w/Orange Peel Sauce (lots of peanut butter in this one-- unforgettable taste). Everything I've tried has been great. The decor is a bit bland/lacking, but who cares when the food is this good?!

Best Chinese I've Had In Los Angeles. If you've read my other reviews you'll notice a trend, a search for NY Style food in Los Angeles, and Yang Chow is no exception. I first heard about Yang Chow on a local weekend talk radio show. The guy went on and on about the Cold Sesame Noodles and not having had that since I left NY I figured I would check it out. I've only had a few dishes but everything has been amazing. I strongly recommend the fried dumplings, cold noodles, and chicken fried rice. They are basic dishes but its a skill to get them just right. They dont have Sesame Chicken and the Wonton Soup is a little different from most restaurants back east but I would definitely check this place out if you are a good, sit-down or take-out, dinner.
