What People Are Saying About Jeff's Carpet World
Be careful
by RSM at Citysearch
- The work was average when completed.
- The hardwood floors look great, but the paint job is poor.
- Chris tries to be helpful, but she often offers things that she can't deliver. She quoted us a combined total for labor, demolition, and installation of hardwood floors, painting with removal of old drapes, and restringing of blinds.
- We found out AFTER we paid her, that the painter/contractor wouldn't do it for that price, so we had to forgo painting the ceilings. Also, we had to pay her contractor extra to fix our doors after the hardwood floors were installed.
- The painter/contractor also never removed the old drapes (as promised and written on our contract) and we were responsible for removing these items.
- We also just found out the blinds which she assured us could be re-strung now can't be. Since this was our "discount" for bundling services with the company, no we're just stuck with the old blinds. If Chris had checked with someone before promising this, we might not have used her for this type of work.
- Basically, we just paid full price for sub-par work.
- The work isn't awful, but it's not worth the time, hassle or effort. Pay someone else to get the job done right the first time.
- We've been on the phone constantly trying to follow-up and fix things
DID A GREAT JOB ON INSTALLING 1700 SQ FEET HARDWOOD FLOOR
by troyg818 at Citysearch
I bought hardwood flooring from them and had them install it. Chris did a great job with ordering the wood, and the installers installed it professionally and without any major problems. Chris does a great job with following up and making sure everything goes smoohly. Overall, a great experience.
- Pros: Chris is great at overseeing everything, professional installation by experienced workers
- Cons: in one small section, the flooring was not 100% level
Bamboo
by neighbor1 at Citysearch
We called 3 vendors for quotes asking specifically for Bamboo.
Steve from Jeff's showed up with bamboo samples and did not try to sell us on something else.
The quote was fair and the work was excellent and done in a timely manner.
One hiccup was the explination of the "transition strip". If your flooring is going to go in a different direction from a hallway into a room, at least with bamboo, you will need a transition strip which lookes like a door jamb and is not very attractive. My advice keep the flooring moving in the same direction from hallway to room for a good flow. They burned through 4 boxes before I caught it.
We will hire Jeff's again for bathroom tile.
