The Scene – Most Ballys stick to the basics for their design. Televisions broadcast silently above multiple rows of cardio machines; mirrored walls act as the primary decorative components. But thanks to high-energy television ads and low-impact membership premiums, this national fitness chain has steadily attracted a clientele bent on saving money while losing weight or gaining muscle. – – The Workout – Using fairly standard strength-training equipment and/or racks well-stocked with free weights, the best of the trainers here, who are classified at four different…
Poor excuse for a health club

Terrible customer service(in fact there is no service). I was a Bally's member for the past 12 years and realized LA Fitness took over the gym I go to. When I went in the first time I was told to surrender my Bally's card for the new LA fitness card. I did this. the new card they give you is small and designed to fit on your key chain,ok, no problem. The second time i go i can't find my card. Im standing at the counter and there's a. young girl sitting behind the counter. She looks at me, like, yeah, what can I do for you. I tell her im here to work out but I don't have my card with me. She looks at me like im six years old and reply's, "where is it" I told her i wasn't sure. She then reply's, $5 bucks. I said, huh,? she says again It's five bucks for a replacement. I told her I'd pay the fee in the event I can't find it by the next time i come. The whole vibe at this place is uninviting. The employee's are dis-ingaged with the customer. the only time they appear to be pleasant is when they are talking among themselves. the equipment is old and a lot of the machines have tears in the seat and backrest cushions, there's paper and trash on all the floors, the life cycles are falling apart. It's just a shabby excuse for a gym that's newly been taken over. Since Bally's is gone I'm finally going to go check out 24 hour fitness in Northridge.
