Try it if your in Chatsworth. I wanted to order the Cioppino, But it is my first time here, so I looked over the menu, and ordered the Calamari (not fried, in a wine sause) for appetizer, and the Chicken marsala as main dish.

Looking over the menu, everything was about $2 too much. The Bruscheta $6.95, the pasta's sart at $16 ..etc.

I tried the calamari, and I enjoyed it. After having the rich bread , the Calamari sauce was not light, but a bit heavy.

The Chicken Marsala was good too, but the sauce was also rich with buttery oil. Usually you get one dish that is heavy, but here I had the garlic bread, the calamari, the chicken, all rather a bit heavy....maybe I ordered by chance.

I think one thing that can change in the atmosphere are the dining chairs. The music, the walls,a bit mish mosh, but not bad. The waiter was super, serviable and prompt. I looked for the flavor in the tomatos in the marsala, but it was trace at best. Mushrooms were good. and the pasta that came with it was ok to good.

The Calamari was good, but not great,

it was better than average, but the price didn't help...and those chairs bothered me...They were clean as the entire place was well kept A+.

One of the key ingredients in a good restaurant is the olive oil they use for everything, but I was not able to try it, as my bread was covered in garlic sauce.

PROS: Great guy at the front. Diverse menu choices. relaxed, clean, and cozy setting. Food is about a 6-8 on a scale of 0 to 10. So the food does go to the Pros section(with comments in Cons). I think one night if I feel strong about having Italian, I will try the Cioppino. parking is good.

CONS:

Bit heavy on the sauces. Prices on the high side. Chairs need to go. Should have fresh NON Garlic bread as an option to dip in some olive oil with cracked pepper and salt.

I do recommend this place but for the price, it should be at least 2 to 3 levels better.

One of the best. I have been going to this place for 12 years... great sevice, food and value. The minestrone is just like it is in Italy. By far one of the best.
