Makoto Sushi has been around for 14 years, the place is very low key but they're not complaining. The place has a lot of regulars ad it is open till 1 am which is a lot better than eating fast food. Just last night me and my boyfriend sat at the bar and ordered their amazing Salmon Skin salad that looks and tastes absolutely delicious. We also got yellow tail hand-rolls, a Philly roll and a Rainbow roll. Yum! I can't wait to go back!

• Pros: Delectable food and drinks. It's a neighborhood favorite!
• Cons: Makoto may be a bit hard to find.

Great & unique sushi in a cozy, hidden atmosphere!

I drove past Makoto for a year and never noticed it! In my opinion, it is waaay too inconspicuous for how great it is!

When you walk in the door, your greeted with some greeting I didn't understand! lol but they hollered at you like they were greeting a friend! I like sitting at the sushi bar... you can place your order with the chefs much easier!

Simply said, this place is delicious and interesting and unique. A yummy diamond in the rough! And the fish is oh so fresh!

It isn't like all those other sushi places in the valley that were constructed to look fancy but is made cheaply and the food is mediocre at best. It has character and the chefs make beautiful and unique food. And they can read their customers... for example, if you tell them you want a lobster roll (which is not specifically on the menu) and they will ask you a couple of questions and I swear its like the know you! And your roll, will be overflowing with lobster!! mmmmmmmm! My favorite sushi place in the valley! Hands Down! ooh and its open late! ;o)

• Pros: Fresh fish and knowledgeable Chefs
• Cons: parking can be tricky but worth it!

Good luck getting your food

Sushi Owner/Chef forgot about 3/4 of our order. Waitress did not bother to check on order when we asked about it after 45 min wait. After an hour of waiting, when the waitress finally did bother to check, the Chef said, "Forgot! Busy." And when we asked to cancel the remaining order, the Chef exclaimed "Good!" We had to ask for the bill and wait another 15 mins for that! They were unapologetic, as exemplified by the fact that they never even offered to comp. the bill. Though mistakes sometimes happen, their poor attitude was most disappointing, infuriating and offensive. It's midnight, and I'm still hungry. :(
